Start UpPressure Relief Procedure

Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure whenever you see this symbol.

1. Remove battery from the sprayer.2. Turn Prime Knob on the sprayer

downward to PRIME position to relieve pressure.

Starting a New JobRefer to disinfectant label for manufacturer's directions on proper use. If dilution is required, properly dilute disinfectant.

If you are using the sprayer for the very first time, see Flushing a New Sprayer in your sprayer manual.

1. Perform Pressure Relief Procedure, page 4.

NOTE: If using a SaniSpray HP 20 Electrostatic sprayer, verify Electrostatic Charge Power Switch is in the OFF position.

2. Turn Valve Handle clockwise to closed position.

3. Verify ProPack Filter is in ProPack Tank. Fill ProPack Tank with properly prepared disinfectant.

NOTE: Fluid level must be above the Hose connection on the ProPack Tank.

This sprayer builds up an internal pressure of 1000 psi (6.9 MPa, 68.9 bar) during use. To help prevent serious injury from pressurized fluid, such as skin injection and splashing fluid, follow the Pressure Relief Procedure whenever you stop spraying and before cleaning, checking, servicing, or transporting equipment. Read all warnings in sprayer manual.

4. Prime the ProPack as follows:

a. Hold ProPack Adapter and Hose below ProPack Tank. Point into waste bucket.

NOTE: Hose cannot be over shoulder or hooked through backpack strap during priming process.

b. Turn Valve Handle counter-clockwise to open position.

c. Allow fluid to flow from Sprayer Adapter for 5 seconds.

d. Turn Valve Handle clockwise to closed position.

5. Remove Pump Filter from sprayer.

6. Connect ProPack to sprayer as follows:

a. Align Valve Handle with Prime Knob on sprayer.

b. Push Sprayer Adapter onto the sprayer. Twist to lock.

NOTICEIt is necessary to prime the Hose with liquid to run the sprayer. Do not run the sprayer dry, it will cause damage to the pump.

7. Prime the pump with disinfectant as follows:

a. Verify Prime Knob on sprayer is pointed down to PRIME position.

b. Install a fully charged battery into the sprayer.

c. Set Speed Control on sprayer to 10.

d. Turn Valve Handle counter-clockwise to open position.

e. Verify Spray Tip is forward in the SPRAY position. Turn Prime Knob on sprayer forward to SPRAY position.

f. Turn sprayer upside down. Pull the trigger and spray for 5 seconds. If sprayer does not spray within 5 seconds, STOP and repeat Starting a New Job, page 4.

NOTE: Sprayer must spray disinfectant for 5 seconds to be primed before proceeding to step 8.

8. You are now ready to spray!

Backpack Strap AdjustmentFor best results, make strap adjustments while wearing ProPack full of disinfectant. ProPack should fit comfortably on lower back, and still allow enough free movement to easily operate equipment.

NOTICEDo not run sprayer without fluid. Running the sprayer dry will cause damage to the pump.

How to SprayReview How to Spray in your sprayer manual. Read all warnings and instructions in your sprayer manual and on the sprayer.

NOTE: If using a SaniSpray HP 20 Electrostatic sprayer, turn Electrostatic Charge Power Switch to ON position before starting to spray. When the trigger is pulled, the electrostatic light will illuminate. Review Grounding instructions in your sprayer manual.

If sprayer does not spray, try the steps below:• Repeat Starting a New Job, page 4, to

prime ProPack and sprayer.• Disinfectant in ProPack may be low.

Remaining fluid can be transferred to a 42 ounce cup assembly, or ProPack can be refilled. To refill the ProPack Tank, follow Refilling ProPack, page 7.

• Make certain the Spray Tip is not clogged. See Clear Tip Clogs in your sprayer manual.

• If sprayer still does not spray, see Troubleshooting, page 10.

Refilling ProPack

1. If using a SaniSpray HP 20 Electrostatic sprayer, turn the Electrostatic Charge Power Switch to the OFF position.

2. Perform Pressure Relief Procedure, page 4.

3. Turn Valve Handle clockwise to closed position.

4. Remove Sprayer Adapter from sprayer. Set sprayer on a rag to capture any disinfectant that may drip.

5. Separate Lid from ProPack Tank.

6. Follow steps 2 – 7 in Starting a New Job, page 4.

CHEMICAL REACTION HAZARDMixing disinfectants can result in a violent chemical reaction, potentially causing serious chemical burns. Always completely clean ProPack and Hose before changing to a different disinfectant.

Cleanup and Storage

Cleaning SprayerCleaning your sprayer with warm water is required after each use to remove disinfectant and residues.

1. Perform Pressure Relief Procedure, page 4.

2. Turn Valve Handle clockwise to closed position.

3. Remove Sprayer Adapter from sprayer. Set sprayer on a rag to capture any disinfectant that may drip.

4. Follow instructions for Cleanup and Storage in your sprayer manual.

Cleaning ProPackAt the end of each day's use, clean your ProPack with warm water to remove all disinfectant and residue.

1. Verify Valve Handle is in closed position.

2. Separate Lid from ProPack Tank. Remove Filter from ProPack Tank.

3. Pour excess disinfectant into waste bucket.

NOTICEDisinfectant left in sprayer will damage the sprayer. To avoid damage, always completely flush with warm water after every use. Do not store sprayer with disinfectant in it.

4. Install ProPack Filter and fill ProPack Tank with warm water.

5. Flush water through ProPack as follows:

a. Hold Sprayer Adapter below ProPack Tank. Point into waste bucket.

b. Turn Valve Handle counter-clockwise to open position.

c. Allow all water to drain from ProPack Tank and Hose.

6. Pour any excess water from ProPack Tank into waste bucket.

7. Verify all fluid is drained from Hose. Turn Valve Handle clockwise to closed position.

8. Dispose of the fluid in the waste bucket according to instructions on the disinfectant container label and applicable regulations.

9. Use a soft cloth moistened with water to clean and wipe disinfectant from outside of the ProPack.

Storage• Do not allow water to freeze in ProPack

or Hose.• Store ProPack in upright position.

• Store ProPack indoors in a cool, dry place.

• Review Storage in your sprayer manual for further instructions.

page 4. Verify Sprayer Adapter and Hose are held below the ProPack tank. Hose cannot be over shoulder or hooked through backpack strap.

Low fluid level in ProPack Tank. Add more fluid to ProPack Tank. Sprayer and ProPack will lose prime when fluid level is near 32 oz (1 liter).

Sprayer makes sound but no fluid is sprayed when trigger is pulled.

Sprayer is not primed. Prime ProPack and sprayer. See Starting a New Job, page 4. Verify the following:

• Fluid level is above outlet fitting (more than approximately 32 oz (1 liter).

• No air is in hose.• Valve Handle is open.

Prime Knob on sprayer is in PRIME position.

Turn Prime Knob to SPRAY position.

Spray Tip is not in SPRAY position. Turn Spray Tip to SPRAY position.

Speed Control on sprayer is set too low.

Increase speed until sprayer sprays.

Sprayer Pump has reached end of life.

Replace Pump Assembly. See Sprayer manual.

Sprayer makes no sound when trigger is pulled.

No battery or low battery voltage. Install fully charged battery.Problem with sprayer. See Troubleshooting in sprayer

manual.Fluid leaking from Hose near Guard

Loose nut on tank fitting, not compressing gasket.

Graco Limited WarrantyGraco warrants all equipment referenced in this document which is manufactured by Graco and bearing its name to be free of defects in material and workmanship on the date of sale by an authorized Graco distributor to the original purchaser for use. Graco will, for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of sale, provide repair parts for equipment determined by Graco to be defective. This warranty applies only when the equipment is installed, operated and maintained in accordance with Graco’s written recommendations.

This warranty does not cover, and Graco shall not be liable for general wear and tear, or any malfunction, damage or wear caused by faulty installation, misapplication, abrasion, corrosion, inadequate or improper maintenance, negligence, accident, tampering, or substitution of non-Graco component parts. Nor shall Graco be liable for malfunction, damage or wear caused by the incompatibility of Graco equipment with structures, accessories, equipment or materials not supplied by Graco, or the improper design, manufacture, installation, operation or maintenance of structures, accessories, equipment or materials not supplied by Graco.
