ADDING, SUBTRACTING, MULTIPLYING AND DIVIDING WITH AND WITHOUT A CALCULATOR.

Without a calculator:

½ + ½ + ½

= 1+1+1

Using a calculator:

0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5=1.5

Without a calculator:

8/8 - 3/8 – 1/8

= 8-3-1

= 4/8 = ½

With a calculator:

1 – 0.375 – 0.125= 0.5

Without a calculator:

2/5 x 3/5

= 2 x 3

5 x 5

= 6

With a calculator:

1 ÷ 0.375= 2.67

Without a calculator:

Without a calculator: 4/5 + 2/4 + 1/2 + 7/10 = ?

16 + 10 +10 +14 20= 50 20= 5/2 =2.5

With a calculator:4/5 + 2/4 + 1/2 + 7/10= ?

First, you need to know how to find the decimal equivalent of any fraction using a calculator:

Using a calculator, take the top number of the fraction and divide it by the bottom number.

Example: 4 5 = 4 ÷ 5 = 0.8

However, when dealing with many fractions using different denominators, it is easier to input the entire sum using brackets:

4/5 + 2/4 + 1/2 + 7/10= (4÷5) + (2÷4) + (1÷2) + (7÷10)= 2.5
