OPINION: Texas Fertilizer Plant Tragedy

Our thoughts are with the people of West, Texas this morning. It seemslike this country can't even catch its breath between disasters these days.Accidents like this one help put into perspective just how fragile life is andhow quickly it can be over. The lives that have been lost weigh heavy onour hearts. The area from the explosion is massive and its affects will befar reaching for the people of this community. The first responders areoften put in harms way as they strive to save others without knowing if theywill be safe from this type of escalating danger. What started out as a firetook the lives of EMS workers and firemen alike when it caused a massiveexplosion. Our thoughts are with all of our amazing and selfless firstresponders who put themselves in often unstable situations to try and savelives. We appreciate their sacrifice and mourn the loss of these bravesouls today.
