The Beginning

• Gen 1:1 In the beginning God (singular form) created the heavens and the earth. • Gen 1:26 Then God said,(rhema/word on the lips) "Let Us make man in Our

image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion…• Gen 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created

him…

Question:If Gen 1: 1 and :27 refers to God as a singular form, then to who or what is this “Us” in verse 26 referring to?

In other words…

In the beginning was God and His Word, His conception, His idea, His decree, mandate, order and reasoning… His plan.

This Word/ plan, became flesh in both Adams and formed them into the image and likeness of God… even us

KnowledgeH1847דעת

da‛athBDB Definition:1) knowledge1a) knowledge, perception, skill1b) discernment, understanding, wisdom…(of man)

Glory of GodG1391δοξαdoxaThayer Definition:1) opinion, judgment, view…(of God)

Man was not suppose to have any other knowledge, perception or understanding other than that of God

His glory

Page 20: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

To have knowledge of good and evil thus means to have…

• Knowledge of something different than God and His plan, His Word, His intentions, His logos.• It would mean a different “glory”…a different view, judgement and opinion of things… a

different mind-set.

This would result in a different “plan” in the earth, one different than what God intended.

A different opinion of things… the opinion of man. A opinion that would oppose the plan, the wisdom of God in the earth, that would strip man from his Godly dominion and eventually bring death to man and God’s plan in the earth.

This condition would be known as sin… “hamartia”…to miss the mark

Page 21: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

From the day man obtained his own knowledge, he became as a god in himself, judging everything by his own view, judgement and

opinion, living for his own glory. Man became unrighteous, no longer in the state as they ought to be, as God created him. From that day onwards man would sin (miss the mark) against God by judging and

questioning Him, His ways and His Word.

Page 22: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

When man fell in sin, he also lost his dominion over the earth

After the fall:Gen 9:1 So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. (nothing about dominion)

Before the fall:Gen 1:28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion…

Page 23: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

From that day onwards God would work towards the restoration of His original and eternal dream and desire with

creation… the whole earth filled with His glory (His view, judgement, opinion) through righteous people (who are in the

state as they ought to be) so that they can once again have dominion over the earth.

Page 24: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

To accomplish that, God worked in these ways:• At first He spoke directly to leaders (Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joshua)• Then He spoke to certain individuals in the days of the Judges• Then to kings and prophets in the days of the kings of Israel• Then through His first son, Jesus Christ (no prophets/ the mind of a anointed one,

a Christ)

• Then…

Page 25: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

…through His sons, filled with His Spirit… anointed ones

…but, Paul said…

1Cor 14:29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. 2Cor 13:1…"By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.“1Tim 5:19 Do not receive an accusation against an elder except from two or three witnesses.

…Why?...

Page 26: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

Although we as children of God have the spirit of God in us we also still have the mind that comes from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil… from where

our own view, judgement and opinion comes from.

This makes it very difficult to distinguish between a word of God and our own thoughts. Everybody think they hear from God, that’s why there are for instance…• 43 000 different Christian denominations• Different forms of baptism ect,• Different doctrines• Not everybody can be correct, somebody is wrong• Not everybody is on the same spiritual level

This is why Paul said a word needs to be judged by two or three witnesses… there is great wisdom in what Paul says.

Page 27: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

Gal 4:1 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, :2 but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.

1Cor 13:9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. :10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. (day 7 Kingdom):11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Page 28: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

The tragedy is that everybody believe they act on a word of God, or think they hear from God themselves. Everybody has their own interpretation of the Word of God or of a word from God. As stated, even church leaders misinterpret the word of God.

Even the early Church leaders didn't act accurate on the word of God, therefore their differences on circumcision, the Law of Moses, the true Israel ect.

That’s why we at CIMi say, do not act without a word and if you have a word, submit it to the leaders and let us help you judge it according to Paul's wisdom and with the mind of Christ (the view, judgement and opinion of God)

Page 29: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

If we as the image and the likeness of God begin to judge all things according to God’s view, judgement and opinion, we will see the Kingdom of God been established in the earth and man will once

again have dominion over all the earth.

God’s dominion can only come from one opinion… His!His opinion, His dominion, His Kingdom, His glory

As it is in heaven so in earth!

Page 30: Opinion v/s Dominion. There are two words in the Greek for the word…”word”

Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ God has destroyed the power of the devil, redeemed us from sin and restored us

into His righteousness.

Now we need to renew our minds accordingly

Col 2:15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Eph 1:15-23(15) Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,(16) do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:(17) that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,(18) the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,(19) and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power…

(20) which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,(21) far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.(22) And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,(23) which is His body, the fullness of Him (God) who fills all in all.

1Cor 2:11-16(11) For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.(12) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.(13) These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.(14) But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.(15) But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.(16)For "who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
