The OPP Awards for Excellence are in their 5th year. They will be presented on the eve of this year\'s OPPLive at The OPP Gala Dinner. The Gala Dinner takes place on Wednesday 10th October at The Brewery in The City of London.TRANSCRIPT
The OPP Awards are now in their 5th year. Judged by industry leaders from around the world, the OPP Awards celebrate the best developers, estate agents and associated companies working in the global cross-border residential property industry.
For 2012 we are taking the awards to a whole new level. Our fifty strong panel of judges will be the most international and the most qualified yet. We have extended the categories to ensure that the awards are as global as they possibly can be.
We welcome major sponsors, Right Move and Smart Currency Exchange, for the first time. Finally, the awards will be presented at a glittering gala dinner ceremony in London on Wednesday 10th October, on the eve of OPPLive – a return of the ceremony after a three year gap.
JUDGING PANEL The OPP Awards 2012 judging panel will comprise fifty industry leaders from across the world. The full detail will be available on the OPP Awards website www.opp-connect.com/awards along with short biographies detailing their key industry achievements.
JUDGING PROCESSThe judging process is strictly adhered to under the judging panel Charimanship of the OPP Editorial Director, John Howell. The entry deadline is 3rd August. Once the entries are received they are allocated to judges according to the category, the specialty of the judge, any potential conflicts of interest and also to ensure that the judges have a realistic number of entries to judge.
To be recognized as a “winner” amongst significant competition is an honour in itself. We don’t only tell the world who won but very importantly we will be telling people why they won. The benefits of winning are numerous and range from attracting more partners through to negotiating stronger commissions or agency terms.

Rightmove Overseas supplies buyers for companies and individuals who sell property outside of the UK. In the first quarter of 2012, over 1.4m unique users visited the company’s website, www.rightmoveoverseas.co.uk, which contributed to over 26,000 buyer enquiries being sent to their advertisers. A strong marketing campaign including big investment in SEO, promotion at key overseas property exhibitions in the UK and also strategic advertising at Stansted airport all help Rightmove Overseas maintain its position as the industry leader. Rightmove Overseas is part of Rightmove.co.uk which has regularly been in the top 10 most visited websites in the UK.
Smart Currency Exchange is a currency exchange specialist which helps clients, both private individuals and companies, to effectively and efficiently send and receive payments internationally. The company markets direct to consumers via the Internet, exhibitions, the media and various partners, including Rightmove Overseas, but it also has a growing network of partners and affiliates, predominantly overseas property agents and developers, who introduce their clients to Smart. Smart’s partnership scheme is based on a revenue share - com-mission rewards. In some instances partners earn commission from Smart even when clients introduced by them don’t buy a property through them, thus still generating an income.
