Content Providers
MAGPI actively seeks out organizations that have relevant, well established educational content, but lack a unified distribution mechanism that takes advantage of today’s technology.
Very often, we are not just training the teachers in how to make the most out of the videoconference experience, but the content providers as well.
When presenting a new provider, a clear understanding by all parties, of the roles and responsibilities, the legal implications, and setting appropriate expectation levels is critical.
It Requires Effort
Here’s what Heather does: Scans the Newspaper/Local TV News Local Public and Cultural Organizations University Departments and Centers The GigaPop’s Membership List Friends, Colleagues, Cocktail Parties “Sells” the distribution concept Invites them in for a test drive Pushes the MoU paperwork

The Franklin Institute Resources for Science Learningwww.fi.edu/learn - since 1994
In the spirit of inquiry and discovery embodied by Benjamin Franklin, the mission of The Franklin Institute is to inspire an understanding of, and passion for, science and technology learning.
NASA Goddard Center
• There is more to NASA than space exploration•An equal amount of attention is paid to:
• Aeronautics• Earth Science
•The educational component is a critical objective for NASA, but the 10 centers in the U.S. have different processes and it is administratively difficult to coordinate their programs.•MAGPI has established a strong relationship with the Goddard Center in Bethesda, MD and periodically provides professional development sessions for K12 educators.

Maximize Your Resources
Events should be more than just a talking head. Use visuals, animation and multi-media to enhance videoconference events.
Videoconferencing as a supplement. Add a videoconferencing element to existing programs or projects.
Leverage Resources. Each participating site in a videoconference event will have different types of technology resources. Put them to use!
THIS IS NOT A SITUATION WHERE YOU
ARE ALWAYS THE RECIPIENT!
THE RELATIONSHIP IS A TWO -WAY
STREET,
GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY OF
EDUCATORS IS JUST AS IMPORTANT.
What’s the Secret?
