Optimise your space
Celotex is the brand leading provider of PIR insulation offering the thinnest
solutions to fit any refurbishment perfectly.
Refurbishment in the UK
The UK has in place demanding targets for the reduction of carbon emissions by
80% in 2050.
Refurbishment of the existing housing stock is key towards realising these goals.
With CERT and CESP schemes due to expire in 2012, Government’s flagship
Green Deal programme is tasked with taking forward energy-efficiency initiatives
in the public and private sector.
The Energy Saving Trust* shows improvements in annual savings directly
attributable to the refurbishment of existing buildings:
▶ Loft insulation to meet a U-value of 0.16 can save up to £175 per year
▶ Internally insulating a solid wall saves around £445 per year
▶ Externally insulating a solid wall saves around £475 per year
▶ Solid wall insulation saves between 1.8 and 1.9 tonnes of CO2 per year
With Celotex’ multiple solutions using premium performance insulation both
reduction in CO2 and financial savings can be realised with the minimum of
compromise to the space of a building.

The refurbishment regulations
Part L & Section 6 2010 provide specific minimum U-value targets that should
be achieved in a refurbishment.
The tables below outline the U-values required in each application.
Meeting the requirements without compromising space can be a challenge.
With Celotex premium performance solutions optimising space is a key attribute.
The chart below shows how much space can be saved using Celotex.
Note: For new thermal elements such as a kitchen extension, different U-values will apply. Please contact the Celotex Technical Centre for further information.
