week 9
Valentine OkonkwoMohammad Shahid
Jean-Paul DavetTai Quach
Individual and team assignments from the previous
week meeting • MAX 712/713 (Jean-Paul and Tai)• Solar cells and Styrofoam (Valentine and Mohammad)• Finish the tail section with the elevator and servo lever
(Jean-Paul and Valentine)• Take actual measurement of the current draw with the
specific weight force of the servo (Jean-Paul, Valentine, Mohammad and Tai).
• Complete the simulation flight test for the force of the rudder, by using a car that is traveling at 65mph (Jean-Paul, Valentine, Mohammad and Tai).
• Team must decide what charge rate to use by the end of the week, and components must be ordered from mouser. (Jean-Paul and Tai)
• Start the installation of the landing gears (Jean-Paul and Valentine).
Obtained results and problems • Jean Paul: Front gear support wall for control servo,
Front gear assembled, main gear mount support, main gears assembled ( with valentine ), Control arms and cables routed for servo control and reinforced for support, Servo mounts built and reinforced for three servos ( with Tai), Back tail glued, Rudder glued, Servo #1 mounted and connected with cable for rudder and Controllable front wheel, Servo # 2 mounted and connected with cable for Elevator, Servo # 3 mounted and connected to cable for Throttle, Both Ailerons for wing covered with aerokote measured experimental values for maximum current to be 250ma for the overall servo control system requirements at 65 mph & Max 712
• Mohammad: Solar cells and Styrofoam, Support wall is complete for front controllable wheel, Servo locations are considered and planned
