Our projectsGAS CONVERSION AND AUTOMATION OF A VERTICAL LIME KILN
New Brunswick
The natural gas conversion project of a vertical kiln at the Graymont plant involved the addition of a combustion alternative: natural gas. The purpose of this project was to operate the kiln using different sources of energy, including natural gas, light oil to light up the kiln, and No. 6 Fuel Oil. WSP was responsible for the automation of the entire kiln, from detailed design to operator training. Our services included design engineering, reparation of the control panel layout and wiring diagrams. We also provided assembly and supply services, design and programming of control systems and operator interfaces, start-up, commissioning and training of operators and maintenance technicians.
AUTOMATION OF CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR AN ORE CONCENTRATOR
Quebec
As part of a project involving the construction of a new nickel ore concentrator, WSP was awarded the contract for the design, engineering and programming of the control systems for a new concentrator and an electrical power plant equipped with six diesel-powered generators. WSP was also responsible for technical support during start-up and commissioning as well as training of operators and maintenance personnel.
PROGRAMMING OF A SCADA SYSTEM
Burkina Faso, Africa
As part of a project involving the construction of a second production line (increasing capacity by 100 per cent), WSP was awarded the contract for the design of the communication architecture, the supply of the data server cabinets, the update of the existing SCADA software, the programming of the new control (SCADA) systems and the supply of technical assistance during start-up and commissioning.

Manufacturing is a key economic sector contributing to Canada’s prosperity. In the context of globalization, Canadian businesses face significant challenges in maintaining and improving their positions in global markets.
Automation of industrial plants increases the efficiency of plant operations and improves production operations. By precisely controlling the various phases of the manufacturing process, automation helps to reduce production costs and minimize environmental impacts by reducing the use of raw materials, rejects and the total quantity of energy consumed. Our specialists can develop comprehensive solutions that meet the need and aspirations of our clients all while considering and addressing their specific challenges.
