VHF ACARS DATALINK WITH TEXTUAL WEATHER - COLLINS AEROSPACE

Maintains the standard XM Broadcast Weather and adds a VHF datalink

radio (VDL Mode 2) to provide Aircraft Communication Addressing and

Reporting System (ACARS) datalink communications. Datalink services may

include textual weather (METAR/TAF/NOTAM/PIREP), departure/oceanic

clearances, D-ATIS, position reports, uploading of fl ight plans, email and TWIP.

A subscription to a Datalink Service Provider is required. Subscription service

charges apply. Cannot be selected with the Collins VHF Datalink Graphical

Weather option (630C).

FLIGHT DATA RECORDERS

FA2100 COCKPIT VOICE RECORDER – L-3 COMMUNICATIONS

Includes a FA2100 CVR with remote-mounted recorder, a cockpit-mounted

microphone, and a control panel.

FLIGHT DATA RECORDER (ICAO TYPE 1A) – L-3 COMMUNICATIONS

This system complies with US Part 91, 91K and 135 requirements for aircraft

confi gured with 10 or more passenger seats. It is compliant with current

EU-OPS regulations and is expected to comply with anticipated future EU-

OPS requirements for aircraft having a maximum takeoff mass of greater

than 5,700 kg (12,500 lbs). This installation meets the fl ight data recorder

requirements in most countries.

TRAFFIC ALERT AND COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM (TCAS)

TRAFFIC ALERT AND COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM (TCAS II) –

COLLINS AEROSPACE

The Collins TCAS-4100 system improves situational awareness by tracking

transponder equipped aircraft within 35 nm. This system, which meets

all ICAO ACAS II (Change 7.1) requirements, selects for display only those

aircraft (up to 30) that pose the greatest collision threat. Traffi c Alerts (TAs)

and Resolution Advisories (RAs) are given aurally through the aircraft audio

system and visually on the PFDs. When other TCAS II-equipped aircraft are

encountered, complementary RA maneuvers are coordinated by each system.

Key improvements associated with Change 7.1 include resolution advisory

(RA) reversal capability as well as a “level off ” callout in lieu of “adjust vertical

speed - adjust.”

TERRAIN AWARENESS AND WARNING SYSTEM (TAWS)

MARK V-A ENHANCED GROUND PROXIMITY WARNING SYSTEM (EGPWS)

– HONEYWELL

Provides visual and aural warning alerts for avoidance of Controlled Flight

Into Terrain (CFIT). Features the TERRAIN AWARENESS and DISPLAY SYSTEM

(TADS) and includes Excessive Descent Rate Alert/Warning (Mode 1), Excessive

Closure Rate to Terrain Warning (Mode 2), Alert to Descent After Takeoff (Mode

3), Insuffi cient Terrain Clearance based on the airplane confi guration (Mode

4), Alert to Inadvertent Descent below Glideslope (Mode 5), Altitude Call Outs,

Excessive Bank Angle Alerts (Mode 6), and Reactive Windshear Warning

and Windshear Caution Alerts (Mode 7). In addition, the Mark V-A system

provides the following terrain map enhanced modes: Terrain Clearance Floor

Exceedance, “Look-Ahead” Cautionary Terrain and Obstacle Alerting and

Warning Awareness, and Terrain and Obstacle Awareness Display.

MARK V-A EGPWS WITH RUNWAY AWARENESS AND ADVISORY SYSTEM

(RAAS) – HONEYWELL (EXCHANGE)

This option is the Mark V-A (described above) with the RAAS software upgrade

installed. RAAS provides situational awareness of the runway environment by

comparing the aircraft’s GPS position with airport data from the EGPWS runway

database. Appropriate aural advisories are issued to the fl ight crew during taxi,

takeoff , fi nal approach, landing, and rollout. An inhibit switch is installed on the

panel to mute aural advisories.

EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER (ELT)

C406-N EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER – ARTEX

Provides a three frequency ELT that transmits on the International Emergency

Frequencies of 121.5 and 243 MHz and the satellite frequency of 406 MHz.

Depending upon country-specifi c programming protocols, the ELT permits

interface to the onboard FMS and can transmit the last known aircraft position

on the satellite frequency (some countries prohibit the navigation interface).

Note: This system requires customer registration with the appropriate

government authority for recognition of the 406 MHz transmission.

WEATHER DETECTION

TWR-850 TURBULENCE DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR – COLLINS

AEROSPACE

The Collins TWR-850 Turbulence Doppler weather radar unit is a stabilized,

solid state, X-band color radar system. The depiction can be overlaid on

the arc or present position map displays on either the PFDs or MFDs and

corresponds to the map/radar range selected. Includes turbulence detection

(to 50 nm), sector scan (reduced sweep angle for rapid updates), target alert

(notifi es the pilots of hazardous targets outside the selected range) and auto-

tilt (maintains angle during altitude or range changes).

BROADCAST WEATHER – XM

XM WX Satellite Weather Data service provides constantly updated weather

information displayed on the MFD. Products such as high resolution NEXRAD,

graphical echo tops, and METARs may be manipulated using the cursor

control panel. The aircraft’s present position is shown on the graphical

images. Data is processed through a Heads Up Technologies receiver and

stored for recall on demand. A subscription through XM is required and is

currently available only within the Continental U.S.

WX-1000E LIGHTNING DETECTION STORMSCOPE

The WX-1000E aids in detecting the position and intensity of thunderstorm

activity by showing up to 63 lightning symbols on the EFIS. The symbols vary

in color by the intensity of the strike. All strikes are acquired and recorded

simultaneously for display at ranges from 25 to 200 nm. The presentation

is heading stabilized and shown on the PFDs and MFDs. Note: No separate

controller, separate indicator, or clear switch is provided. The WX-1000

checklist function is not available. Lightning display is controlled through

onscreen menus. Spurious strikes may result from engine ground operation,

particularly at high thrust settings.
