Optional subjects
Possibility of a combined science course (worth one IGCSE) for students not thinking of studying a science at A Level and who do not feel they are suited to studying single sciences.
5
• Not studying a subject at IGCSE level usually excludes the possibility of continuing it at A-Level.
• At least one science subject must be chosen. • There are no “easy” IGCSEs.
Things to remember
6
• Don’t choose too many subjects • Don’t base decisions on what friends are doing. • Don’t choose a subject just because of a teacher. • Parents should resist the temptation to choose the options for their
children.
Making decisions
7
• Do choose something you enjoy and are interested in • Do choose what you are good at. • Do discuss choices with tutors, teachers and parents
