A NEW SPORTS CHALLENGE - Our West Sacramento Lodge is just one of twelve in our District 4; and we are supporting an effort to develop friendly competitions that will provide fun diversions and improved social opportunities for Moose members and their families to explore new gaming opportunities, recreational opportunities as we visit neighboring Lodges as we strengthen our Moose “Family Fraternity”. There are so many wonderful members of Moose in our neighboring Lodges. We already have established bowling teams, and now we are invited to join in the District Bowling Tournament, so that we might advance to the new Annual Bowling Tournaments during our Annual Conventions while we play with LOOM & WOTM from CA and NV. The new District Sports Director, Paul Kramer will help and support anyone interested in brainstorming and exploring new sports and games that might provide new and fun ways in which we can interact and have togetherness and fun: Pool, Horseshoes, Bocce, Wii Sports, Marbles, Lawn Darts, Baseball, Basketball, ETC. If you have any ideas, please contact Governor Chris Cherniss or our Sports Chairman Justin Manning or leave your suggestion in the “Suggestion Box” by the bulletin board. RECORDERS MESSAGE Hello Co-workers, Here we are at the end of the year 2017-2018 and planning for the coming year. The next two months are going to be pretty busy what with election and last minute fundraiser to complete. Nomination meetings are going on, so if you are interested in holding an office please let one of the current Board members know. It's been a great year and we have met our goals and had fun while going though; at the time it seems like a lot of work, but when it's done and you sit down to rest each of you can be proud of what you have done. We still need some new members and the membership to step-up and make sure all dues are current. Dues (membership) play a big part in getting the Award of Achievement and we need everyone on board to reach that goal. Check your card if you are paid thru April are good, any other date please call me and we will get you current. The Membership/ Retention Committee will be making some calls, also to help us. Let's finish this year with a plus - not just what we need. Thanks for all the support and help this year, we couldn't do, what we did without all of you helping. Fraternally,

Mauda, Your Recorder

THE WELCOMING HAND When a man and a woman meet, the woman directs the welcoming protocol: She will either OPEN her arms Extend her hand. IF the woman knows the person, and welcomes a hug; Only then, she will extend and OPEN her arms to embrace and hug the person. IF the woman is not yet comfortable with a hug or more, then she will

politely Extend Her Hand; indicating a hug is not yet appreciated or has not yet been earned. Welcoming is a social gesture that is fluid and develops and changes as social and working relationships grow. This protocol precludes impropriety, unwelcome advance, misunderstanding - Moose Manners 101
