PURPOSE STATEMENT

This document provides an overview of Licensing for Oracle Business Intelligence

Publisher or Oracle Analytics Server for use with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud

Control.

1.0 INTRODUCTION TO ORACLE ENTERPRISE MANAGER LICENSING

Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c (Enterprise Manager) is Oracle's single, integrated

solution for managing all aspects of the Oracle Cloud and the applications running on it. Enterprise

Manager couples a potent, top-down monitoring approach to delivering the highest quality of service

for applications with a cost-effective automated configuration management, provisioning, and

administrative solution. This powerful combination provides unequaled management for any size

Oracle data center.

Oracle also offers several options, management packs, management plug-ins, and other products

such as Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BI Publisher), now re-branded as Oracle Analytics

Server (OAS) Reports that enhance the capabilities of Enterprise Manager. This document describes

the separately licensed Enterprise Manager Management packs, management plug-ins, and other

products you can purchase to enhance the capabilities of Enterprise Manager for BI Publisher/OAS.

1.1 LICENSE AUTHORIZATION REQUIREMENT

Use the options, packs, reports, licensed repository views, or Command Line Interface (CLI) verbs

described in this document only with the appropriate licenses.

1.2 BI PUBLISHER/OAS LICENSING WITH ENTERPRISE MANAGER

Enterprise Manager includes restricted use of BI Publisher/OAS and Business Intelligence Mobile for

use with Enterprise Manager functions and interfaces only. This restricted BI Publisher/OAS license

allows reporting only against the Enterprise Manager repository and against data dictionary

(including AWR and AWR Warehousing data) of target databases. In order to report against other data

sources, it is necessary to have the BI Publisher/OAS license.

Some Enterprise Manager Management packs include BI Publisher/OAS reports that use a different

data source. The license to use these reports is provided as part of the license for the relevant

management pack. The following table provides information on the Enterprise Manager

management packs, the corresponding licensed reports, and how these reports can be accessed.For

1.3 LIST OF REPORTS AND MINIMUM LICENSE PACK REQUIRED

The reports listed in this section are covered by more than one license pack, which are needed for

every different target and target types. This list uses the Information in: Oracle® Enterprise Manager

Cloud Control Licensing Information User Manual , for the list of Views Licensed to each Pack.

To obtain reports on Alerts, Configuration, Metrics and other generic functionality you must have the

license for the specific underline target. For example, to use alerts on a Weblogic Server target and to

obtain alert-related reports, you must have the Oracle Weblogic Server Management Pack license.

You can obtain the Alert History report on database targets if you have the Oracle Diagnotics Pack,

however you need the specific Management Pack license to obtain generic functionality reports for

other targets such as Weblogic servers, IDM, and so on.
