He also continues teaching commitments as discipline lead at post-graduate level in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology at the University of Queensland, School of Dentistry. He is a member of both the ADA Inc and AHPRA Thera- peutics committees and a contributing author to the Therapeutic Guidelines book “Oral and Dental”. He has specific clinical and research interests in the management of soft tissue lesions, both conservative and surgical, the use of steroid medications, oral dysaesthesias and telemedicine. DR SIMON MOORE holds dual registration with the Australian Dental Board as a registered specialist within the field of Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology. Following graduation from the University of Adelaide in 1985, Simon served as a Dental Officer in Armed Forces. He then undertook further study in Theology before returning to Adelaide to obtain his MDS in Oral Pathology. Simon has a passion for teaching and was on the staff at the University of Adelaide University until moving to Brisbane in 2004 where he currently works in Specialist Oral Medicine practices in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. He also has a heart for those less fortunate and has been involved in dental training programs within East Timor and Cambodia. PROFESSOR CHRIS PECK is Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, the University of Sydney and President of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Orofacial Pain. Professor Peck manages complex orofacial pain and disorder patients and conducts research trying to understand better the transition from acute to chronic pain, evidence-based diagnosis and management of orofacial pain, and the biomechanics of jaw dysfunction. A strong advocate for multidisciplinary patient management, he is internationally renowned for his leadership and contributions to translational research in orofacial pain and leading the clinical arm of projects involving researchers from biomedicine to mathematics. He is a senior facial pain expert in the NSW public health care system at the Royal North Shore Hospital’s Pain Management Re- search Institute, involved in patient care, clinical supervision and research. Professor Peck is President of the International Research Diagnostic Criteria for Temporo- mandibular Disorders Consortium Network, which develops reliable and valid diagnostic criteria for facial pain complaints. Other clinical pain research groups have emulated this consortium model. Additionally, he chaired an expert International Working Group to expand the taxonomy of temporomandibular disorders (Journal of Oral Rehabilitation 2014). The Oral Medicine & Pathology 2018 event is organised by the Queensland Dental GroupTM ACN 139051362, ABN 32139051362. Participants may use this event to meet CPD requirements as set by the Dental Board of Australia. CPD Verification has also been received from the New Zealand Dental Asso-ciation (NZDA). For Australian and New Zealand dental practitioners, the maximum hours of scientific CPD credit attainable for attending Oral Medicine & Pathology 2018 is 7 hours. The Queensland Dental GroupTM guarantees all advertised events are compliant with the current Dental Board of Australia guidelines on continuing professional development. NZDA verifies, that based on the information provided to NZDA, this activity meets the Dental Council policy requirements for CPD.
