From the Principal’s Desk Ms Annie Munro
Please provide your child with a school uniform jumper. These are available at our Uniform Shop and can be ordered through Flexischools. Either a half zip fleecy or a sports jacket are appropriate for daily wear. At present we have quite a number of students who are wearing hooded tops- these are not appropriate for school.
Our Fundraiser for Farmers is set for Friday 24 August, details will be communicated closer to the date.
A part of our school’s welfare system is that students who require close monitoring of behaviour may be “Case Managed”. This is a period of ten days where students regularly report to their class teacher and Assistant Principal to discuss behaviour choices at school. Awards such as Distinctions and Honours will not be presented during this period - they can still be earned but presentation will be held off until the student has shown satisfactory behaviour on a consistent basis.
Please have your child at class by 9am. Being on time allows your child every opportunity to engage with their school day and maximise success in their education.
P&C meeting for August will be held in the Staffroom at 6pm tonight. Looking forward to seeing all attendees.
Quote: “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.”- Disney (Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh) Book Week - The Book Week parade will be on Wednesday 26 September, due to the school production of “Musical Mayhem” and Stage 3 excursions. The theme this year is “Find your Treasure”.
Monster Raffle - Remember to return sold tickets and money to the front office. More tickets available. Great prizes to be won. All funds raised will go towards resources for students. Pictured are some of the prizes to be drawn at the evening performance of Musical Mayhem on Tuesday 28 August 2018.
Spelling Bee - The students below have been successful in the Stage 2 & Stage 3 spelling bee round held at school last week. Congratulations for making it through to the next level, which will be contested later in the term.

LANGUAGES The precise number of Australian Indigenous languages is unknown, but according to a survey, it was
thought that when colonists arrived, there were over 250
languages. Today, 100 of those languages are unspoken, and the
rest are highly endangered.

SRC TIP OF THE WEEK
You were made to be awesome, keep
going!
Class of the week- 5t
Teacher: Miss Townsend Favourite class game : Math Tips
Most motivated student : Kaiya Johnson Student who is always on time : Bailey Stonestreet
What are you learning about this term : In English we are studying a unit called Embracing Differences. In
this unit we are reading some very interesting texts about Refugees. In history, we are also learning about
the Australian Government, ready for our excursion to Canberra.
Dream excursion : Flying to America in a luxury Boeing 737 first class private jet. While we are in Ameri-
ca, we would love to go to Disney Land, New York and a NFL game.
A cool fact about your teacher that nobody else knows : Miss Townsend's favourite food is anything with
caramel in it!
Is there anything else you want us to know about your class : We have a
Pen pal class in Sweden and we often get to taste some 'interesting'
Swedish foods.
This is a photo of our class doing
a Just Dance routine!
