ORC Spring Meeting 2015 Submitted by Chuck Crase The ORC held its Spring Meeting in Kalamazoo, MI in conjunction with the Kalamazoo Living History Show (KLHS) March 21-22, 2015. The Chapter was well represented by twelve participants with ten in period dress for the KLHS. The snow had melted, it was sunny with moderate temperatures, and it turned out to be a perfect weekend for the Show. Visitors clogged the isles in all of the exposition three arenas both Saturday and Sunday mingling shoulder to shoulder from table to table.

Friday evening included a meet and greet dinner at the Four Points Sheraton Kalamazoo followed by a work session at the Expo Center to set up the ORC displays for the weekend.

Members took turns manning the tables and discussing Lewis and Clark with the visitors.

ORC members participated in the lecture series both Saturday and Sunday. Skip Jackson as Meriwether Lewis discussed “Preparing for the Expedition”. Mike Dotson presented “Meet George Drouillard, Hunter and Indian Interpreter”. Chuck Crase gave a power point presentation entitled “Sites along the Eastern Legacy”.

The Chapter business meeting was held Saturday evening at the Four Points Sheraton followed by dinner and lively conversation at the hotel restaurant.
