Agenda for Today:•Warm-up – Fine Tuning Books #6 & 7 – work on #3 & 5 in sectionals•Music – Play March of the Nutcracker and Festival of Lights•Remainder of Class – Sectional Work with instructions

Sectional Work:

• Work on Transitions in all songs in sectionals

• Work on Dynamic contrasts – especially the use of the bow – lower half, upper half, middle of the bow

• Work on Technique using the bow – bouncing bows, connected sound, uniformity of runs within your sections.

• Work on ensemble sound.

Large Group Finish:

• Let’s Play through all 4 songs and see what difference your half hour of song practice has accomplished.

• Take note for yourselves of anything that did not go as you wanted it to, and work on those sections.

• Figure out what you need to fine tune in order to make the music polished for the concert.

Closure:• Standards (9.1 A, B, C, G)• Things to think about:What did I accomplish in my practice today in

class?What can I work on to make my performance

class on Tuesday – sell tickets on Thursday, Friday, and Monday during lunches – officers figure out who is going to sell. Concert only a week and a couple days away!!
