At this upcoming performance, Royal Wood and other remarkable Canadian artists will perform alongside the TSO, conducted by Lucas Waldin. The evening will include memorable appearances by Jim Cuddy (Blue Rodeo), Ed Robertson (Barenaked Ladies), Jill Barber, Good Lovelies, Peter Katz, and Elise LeGrow. Growing up in a musical family, Canadian singer-songwriter, record producer, and arranger Royal Wood started playing piano by ear at age of four. By his teenage years, he was already familiar with a variety of instruments: guitar, drums, trumpet, clarinet and more. After finishing high school, Wood went to McGill University to study business, meanwhile also focusing on his musical side by performing in jazz clubs in Montreal and practicing on the guitar. In 2002, Royal Wood released Milkweed, his first EP, which himself had written, arranged, performed, and produced. This release attracted a lot of critical attention as critics drew comparisons between him and famous names such as Tom Waits, Randy Newman, and Jeff Buckley. In 2005, he joined Reaction Studios in Toronto and once again, he led the production process of his following record A Good Enough Day, which was released both in Canada and Europe. His success kept on growing; iTunes proclaimed Royal Wood to be “Songwriter of the Year” in 2010, he was nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the 2013 Juno awards for his album We Were Born to Glory, and Irish Times named Ghost Light (2016) one of the Best Albums of the Year. Royal Wood’s latest album, Ever After the Farewell, was released in 2018, and the tour included a headlining performance at Massey Hall. A companion EP Love Will Linger was released later that year. His latest projects include his upcoming Royal Wood - Live at Massey Hall album and a Royal Wood - The Road to Massey Hall documentary. Orchestrated:
