SCHOLARONE incorporates ORCID into the manuscript peer review workflow for publishers -Enables articles to be automatically added to the author’s ORCID profile if the publisher participates -Enables peer review activity to be added to one’s ORCID profile (with pub participation)

Users creating an account for the first time or editing an existing account see the ORCID option on Step 1.


Users can update their ORCID iD or remove an association. Validated ORCID iDs have a green checkmark.


This selection redirects users to the ORCID site where they can sign in or register with ORCID


Once the user authorizes the scopes requested, they are redirected back to ScholarOne with their validated ORCID.


At this time, users are also given the option to populate certain biographical fields with data from their ORCID record.


Submitting authors can also provide ORCID iDs for themselves and co-authors.
