Benefits of Powerpoint Can provide multiple means of representation Visual Animation on slide or in between slides Pictures Can be printed as a book Auditory Can include sounds Can include words or sentences being read aloud Can assist with fading supports Can make it much easier to generalize Can be used for review and instruction Can be re-used student to student or year to year Easily customizable to individual students
  9. 9. Creating Materials Can create flashcards Can use multiple pictures/examples of an item Can move around text/objects to ensure generalization Can fade text by letters Can fade pictures by fading transparency or size Easy to revise

Creating Books Can easily print out the slides as a book (when using print feature, select print slides) Can set up Powerpoint book to run independently (using slide transitions and powerpoint show) Can add narration to the story (keyword: add narration) Can animate each letter or each word (keywords: animation, animate texts and objects) Can highlight certain words Can create hyperlink to vocabulary (keywords: creating hyperlinks)

Creating Teaching Program Can provide prompts for students or students (visual or audio) Prompts can be faded out (visual or audio) Can provide feedback based upon a students response Usually student responds by clicking on answer Based upon the answer, using a hyperlink, a student will get a response, either that it is correct or to try again
  35. 35. Thinking, Feeling, Acting A thought is something I think in my head. I respond to events or things that happen in several different ways. A feeling is something I feel in my body. An action is something that I do.

Microsoft Word Instead of saving multiple files, you can track the changes or edits a student makes from first draft to final draft of writing Have the students type the original document and then select track changes. Anything added after that will be saved as a change. (keyword track changes) You can have students change the view to show the changes or to simply note them but not show them at the time.
