Musical Instruments | We sing during ourgathering because music helps connect us withJesus inways spokenworddoesn't. WHATWE'REABOUTShalom|God'srelationshipwithcreationbeganwith"Godsawallthathehadmadeanditwasverygood"(Genesis1:31).ThescripturestellusthatadayiscomingwhenGodwillunfoldanewheavenandanewearth(Revelation21).ThisstateofperfectwholenessisthecentreoftheJewishideaof"Shalom".Butwhataboutthein-betweentime?Jesus'lifeandteachingrevealsGod'splantounfoldshalomhereandnow:"Mayyourkingdomcome,mayyourwillbedoneonearthasitisinheaven"(Matthew6).WebelievethatfollowersofJesusareinvitedtoparticipateinthein-breakingofGod'sshalomhere,now,onearthasitisinheaven.Asacommunity,theconnectionseekstheshalomofGodinthefollowingbroadexpressions:
