Saturday, November 19th | 4:00-8:00 pmJoin us behind the Lodge for holiday fun for the entire family at our Grand Illumination lighting ceremony, parade and fireworks! This year's event will include a visit from Santa, live music, children's craft projects, sleigh rides, entertainment from Mr. Magic, face painting, works from select local artisans and huggable characters. Grab a bite from local vendors or at one of our Resort restaurants.

Live entertainment will take place outdoors on the main stage from 4:00-8:00 pm. The lighting ceremony starts at 5:30 pm, with pictures with Santa from 6:00-7:30 pm. Enjoy pony rides and a petting zoo from DD Ranch from 4:00-7:30 pm, and sleigh rides from 4:00-6:00 pm (weather permitting).

TURKEY TROT 5K FUN RUN/WALK November 25th | 10:00 am Work off that Thanksgiving feast at our annual 5K Turkey Trot Fun Run/Walk supporting the Neighborhood Impact program. We will be hosting a Thanksgiving-themed costume contest this year with prizes for the most decked-out individuals. Pre-registration is required. Register before Monday, November 14th, to receive a Turkey Trot shirt. Registrations received after November 14th will not receive a shirt, but one can be purchased, while supplies last, the morning of the race. Santa’s Workshop is located in The Outpost between Fort Funnigan and the Bike Barn and is open only during craft sessions. ART EXHIBITION AT THE LODGENovember 23rd, 2016 - January 6th, 2017 Sunriver Resort Lodge Betty Gray Gallery, upper level, presents Barbara Slater’s colorful and realistic oil paintings of barnyard animals, reflecting both her affection for the subjects and her skillful grasp of their natures. In the lower gallery level, Karen Bandy shows whimsical acrylic paintings of domesticated and wild animals, capturing their personalities in soft pastel hues. JR. GINGERBREAD JUNCTION Tuesday, December 20th and 27th | 6:00-9:00 pm It is the sweetest time of the year, and here at Sunriver we mean it! We will start the night with games such as Candy Land and Candy Cane Hunt. After that, we’ll take a field trip to Gingerbread Junction for inspiration and then head back to the Fort to start our Sunriver Tradition of creating mini gingerbread houses! Each child will be equipped with all the sugary supplies needed to create a tasty Christmas creation.

A VERY CRAFTY CHRISTMASSaturday, December 17th | 6:00-9:00 pm Parents, take a night to yourself to dine out or relax at the spa. The kids have some spectacular gifts to make for the family! Kids, get ready for a night of ornaments. Each child will make three different kinds of ornaments to take home to family and friends. After we are done creating our masterpieces, we will celebrate with handcrafted Sunriver hot chocolate and games.

FROZEN FORT Sunday, December 18th, and Friday, December 30th 6:00-9:00 pm It’s officially winter, and we are ready to celebrate! Spend an evening filled with frozen-themed fun! We will be making frozen slime, snow paint and custom snow globes. That’s not all. We will also play freeze tag and drink frozen snowball punch!

NORTH POLE PARTY Monday, December 19th | 6:00-9:00 pm Join us at the Fort for a party celebrating Santa’s home. We will start the night with North Pole Ring Toss, Don’t Break the Ice and a North Pole Scavenger Hunt. After the games, we will make custom Sunriver reindeer food and no-melt snowballs, and writes letters to Santa. There will also be a surprise visit from Santa’s favorite reindeer, Rudolph! This will be an unforgettable North Pole night! (Digital photos will be taken with Rudolph and sent to parents).

ELVES-IN-TRAINING Friday, December 16th and 23rd | 6:00-9:00 pm Spend the night with us to see what it takes to get ready for an elf visit. We’ll create elf snacks, read elf stories and play elf games. You will design an elf tree-trimming creation that will be the perfect ornament to hang on your tree, and you’ll even be fitted with your very own elf hat!

SNOW MUCH FUN! Wednesday, December 21st and 28th | 6:00-9:00 pm We will have a night full of indoor snowmen, indoor snowball fights and some special snow dough crafts, including some you can eat! Oh! And don’t forget the surprise visit from Frosty the Snowman! (Digital photos will be taken with Frosty to be sent to parents).

HOLIDAY PAJAMA-RAMA Thursday, December 22nd and 29th | 6:00-9:00 pm Join us in your favorite sleepwear for the ultimate pajama party. Participate in sleeping bag races, pillow fights and other fun games. We’ll hand-stuff a holiday animal from the Bear FactoryTM and make banana splits. $5 additional fee for stuffed animal.

POLICIES: Whether it’s a day of arts and crafts, outdoor adventures or “monkeying around” on the indoor bouldering wall, Sunriver Resort has created the perfect environment for children ages 3-10. At Fort Funnigan, kids have the run of the Fort and the Resort!

Of course, serious fun means a serious commitment to safety. We’ve staffed our facility with caring people who hold first-aid and CPR certifications and food-handlers’ licenses and who have had criminal background checks. We boast a low child-to-adult ratio to ensure that your child gets the attention he or she deserves, and of course to maximize fun! Please ensure that children are dressed appropriately, as some of our activities take place outdoors.

REGISTRATION POLICY: All children must be fully potty-trained and training pants–free (sorry, no exceptions). Pre-registration is required by 5:00 pm the evening prior to the desired program or availability cannot be guaranteed. We will have snacks, but please make sure your child eats dinner prior to our night program. Cancellation of reservations must be made 24 hours prior to the start of the registered program or the full program fee will be charged.

Proceeds from “lot” sales for Gingerbread Junction will be donated to the Newberry Habitat for Humanity. Sunriver Resort will match donations dollar for dollar up to $2,500.
