INTRODUCTION

The society shall be called Deewah Development Organization (DDO). It is registered under Societies ACT XX1 of 1860. The core objective of our society is to promote people centered development for improving livelihoods of poor and vulnerable communities especially women and reducing poverty in every corner of Pakistan by means of providing vocational training and literacy.

The organization will work for poverty alleviation; eradication of child labour in all its forms especially worst forms, education promotion; women development and environmental protection, on no profit no loss basis, in any area in KPK and can be extended all over the country.

The study of various sectors of the rural areas of KPK’s economy reveals that it is the most backward area of Pakistan in term of socio economic development. It is therefore; need of the time to start an accelerated process of development for the uplift of the area and to ensure delivery of benefits of development at the grassroots level with the objective that the people who could grow and prosper like urban and developed areas of Pakistan.

There are some positive developments that have happened in the recent past. The interest shown by the international community is very encouraging and it is very certain that if this interest is translated into practical initiatives and programs for the development of rural areas of KPK, there will be a pleasant change in the socio-economic situation of the area. There is a need that the donor community must be engaged in a constructive dialogue and provided with all the facilitation so that they can have the requisite base line data which can then be formed the basis of their future intrusion.

DEEWAH DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION is purely a non-government and non-profitable organization striving for development of communities in KPK regardless discrimination on the basis of race, cast, religion, culture, gender and social status. It intends to serve as a forum based on heterogeneous participation across the country that will provide support to growing global movement for the betterment of humanity.

Objective

Establishing free education and other vocational center To increase and improve basic quality education in the society To promote micro-enterprises for raising income level of poor of the

poorest.

To facilitate linkages for increasing effective coverage of development process in rural areas.

To build institutional capacity at local level, focusing women for sustainable development.

To create awareness among different segments of the society regarding their rights, responsibilities in a society lacking fundamental rights and to enhance the economic status of women within the family.

To advocate the cause of women and children development for influencing the structural change in the society.

To facilitate and assist the formation and strengthening of Community groups and Networks at the grass root level to manage sustainable development

To provide emergency relief services to the affected communities in times of Natural Calamities like Earth Quacks, Floods etc. as well as launch rehabilitation programs.

Training and workshop for the awareness of new technological changes and developments in Agriculture field

Awareness of the huge demand for fresh and off season vegetables in the local as well as in international markets

Cultivation, awareness and growing of Hybrids vegetable and other crops in urban areas

Seminars about the awareness of AIDS, Hepatitis, diabetes and other major diseases

Free health clinics

Free Maternity homes services in rural areas for deserving peoples to get them rid off from the occurrences of major diseases after and before child deliveries

STRATEGY

DEEWAH will undertake holistic approach in planning and development activities at grass-roots level. It will incorporate local experience to formulate future plan of action. Confidence of the common citizens of Pakistan can be built upon to increase their rate of participation in managing their affairs.

DEEWAH is also aiming at strengthening public-private partnership to encourage dialogue between government, various communities and development agencies. It will try to help built system of check and balance to ensure transparency, accountability and good governance.

Achievements

As Deewah is very recently established but in short period of time the team of Deewah are having very positive contribution in the development of community almost in all major sectors.

Education:

Deewah has sponsored three teachers for Sadaat Academy which is situated in Village Pirpiai, Distt Nowshera, KPK of Pakistan. Total numbers of students more then 100. The school level is from nursery to 5th class. DDO next strategy is to sponsor the whole school so the students will pay Zero tuition fee.

And their parents wouldn’t stop them from free education.

Secondly the Director of water Management MR. Muhammad Anwar Shah has donated his building on zero rent which is built in 2.5 Kanals and having more than ten class rooms and also having examination halls. DDO having plan to establish a school and vocational center of quality education in near future.

DDO is engaged in promoting education consultancy and career counseling from last six years. DDO has so far sent number of students to international colleges and universities around the globe, DDO aims to provide same quality education to the young and upcoming generation in Pakistan. Ruler area young generations especially are not aware of use of computers and applied education. DDO aims to provide computer literacy and awareness of education in every corner of needed areas by means of vocational training centers.

Secondly most of the students deprived from education cause of the scarce resources. DDO Plan to pay the tuition fee and other educational expenses to the deserving students. The core vision of DDO is to conduct awareness training about the long lasting effects of female education in family and society.

Contribution of DDO in Flood of July-Aug 2010

During Conflict of Swat the rehabilitation of internally dispersed people of Malakand division DDO provides food, shelter (by means of providing accommodation in local community) and NFIs to the best of our possessions.

In accordance to PDMA 75 % people of Distt Nowshera and Charsadda were affected badly by flood. Lives have been lost in flood and 75% of the population lost their homes and assets. They were deprived from food and shelter; even they were not having clean water to drink.

DDO did cover to Union Council Nowshera Kalan, Pirpiai, Aza khail & Pastoon Gari.

DDO welcomed the dispersed people with a lot of love and sympathy, DDO tried their level best to provide them a safe and comparable accommodation and all the basic facility which were required by IDPs in means of Food, Shelter and specially communication facilities to contact there family through Telephone and Cells.

DDO also did perform the “MAMTA HOME CONCEPT”. To the dispersed children which were in access and drop by community with us during the flood.

By the contribution of local community and board of directors and board of

Governors DDO generated funds and provide them the above mention facilities.

Medical Camp & Eye Camp

DDO arranged medical and Eye camp to the flood effected people for the skin and other diseases cause of polluted flood water, which should be cured. Then with the co-ordination of Pakistan Red Crescent Society and Alshifa eye Trusts, DDO arranged a Medical Camp at different Government High Schools.

DDO with coordination of Alshifa Eye trust held different camps in different locality in district Nowshera i.e. In Pirpiai, Pashtoon Gari, Nowshera Kalan, and Sies Mandi.

DDO also screen out different school with Alshifa Eye Trust in Nowshera District and cover more then ten thousand students and provide medicine and free check ups.

Water Distribution in Nowshera Kalan

DDO distributed Water in Nowshera Kalan which was the most effected area in Nowshera district.

Through announced in Pirpiai and different localities request were made to the local community to provide us

empty disposable bottles so we will be able to provide drinking water to effected community.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

DDO with partnership of Qatar Charity PKR 3.4 million foods where distributed in UC Pirpiai and Aza khail among the flood effected house holds. And cover more then 1200 families.

QURBANI MEAT DISTRIBUTION

DDO has distributed qurbani meat among 360 beneficiaries in Nowshera with the

coordination of Qatar Charity,

MEDICINES DONATED TO PPHI

DDO has arranged the medicine for all BHUs in Nowshera and distributed those medicines through PPHI Primary Private Health Institutes.
