On behalf of Russian Ministry of Heath I welcome all participants of the Russian Congress of cardiology. This year the Congress is devoted to the 50-th anniversary of the Russian Society of Cardiology, a much authorized society which unites over 5 thousand specialists: physicians and researchers in cardiology and related specialties. The Russian Society of Cardiology has branches in all regions of Russia and greatly contributes to development of the Russian healthcare system, as well as to reduction of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality – an important strategy for Russia.

The platform of interdisciplinary communication creates the base for active participation of the Society in healthy lifestyle programs, continuous medical professional education, social activities and preventive strategies, development of scientific and clinical guidelines and standards.

Many topical problems of diagnosis, treatment and cardiovascular prevention are discussed in the framework of national cardiology congresses annually. The Congress activities result in implementation of new methods and technologies of diagnosis and treatment in clinical practice, open new perspectives in healthcare modernization in Russia on the basis of scientific progress and support further development of professional skills of the specialists.
