Ryan Field parking shuttle in operation
After move-in, families may park in designated
locations on campus or the Ryan Field west lot. A
free shuttle runs continuously between the west
lot and the center of campus, where it makes stops
on the east side of Sheridan Road before turning
west at Central Street. On Tuesday evening only,
a stop at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall is added. See
map on inside back cover for parking and shuttle
stop locations.
9 a.m.–4 p.m.
Check-in for Wildcat Welcome and
Parent and Family Orientation
New students should check in at their residential
area’s Wildcat Welcome Center after moving in.
Parents, family members, or students can pick up
the parent and family orientation schedule, Parent
and Family Guide, and a special gift. See map for
Wildcat Welcome Center locations.
11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Dining halls open for lunch
Meal plans start today. On your student’s move-in
day, lunch is free for accompanying family
members. See map for dining hall locations.
4:30–6 p.m.
Welcome from the dean of students and panel
presentation
Dean Mona Dugo and other administra tors
welcome families and highlight campus resources.
Panelists include staff from the provost’s office,
Campus Inclusion and Community, Counseling
and Psychological Services, the Health Service,
Residential Services, and Student Involvement.

“A Year in the Life” with family ambassadors
Family ambassadors perform vignettes depicting
typical first-year and transfer student experiences,
followed by a Q&A session. Cahn Auditorium

Multicultural Student Affairs cordially invites
Native American and Indigenous families to
meet one another, current Native and Indigenous
students, and staff while learning more about
the Native American and Indigenous community
at Northwestern. Lunch will be provided. Norris

Note: March through the Arch proceeds as planned, rain
or shine. In the event of severe weather, change-of-plan
information will be announced by 1 p.m., and families
and students will say their goodbyes at the residences.
3–4 p.m.
March through the Arch and Kiss ’n’ Bye
Cheer for the Class of ’25 and new transfer
students as they take their symbolic first steps at
Northwestern!
At 2:30 p.m., families may line the March through
the Arch route (shown below) while students
assemble with their PA groups on University Place.
At 3 p.m., led by the Northwestern University
Marching Band, PA groups 1 through 185—all
carrying numbered signs—start crossing Sheridan
Road to take their walk through Weber Arch,
then on to Deering Meadow for a pep rally with
University and student leaders.
Around 3:45 p.m., Kiss ’n’ Bye is a time for families
and students to say their goodbyes. Students
then rejoin their PA groups for the rest of the day,
and families go to the dean’s welcome for their
student’s school.C
