  • Origami Corner Bookmarks.Monster Style February 2016

  • The Collection- This is what we are going to make.

  • To make these bookmarks we will have to fold paper.

See if you can notice some words in our instructions that say

    fold, folded, folding or unfold.

To fold a piece of paper in half you do this.

  • Equipment

You will need an A4 piece of paper, a pair of scissors and some card to make decorations for your monster.

Fold in half Fold again then cut off the extra bit

Cut in half to make 2 squares Fold

  • Start by folding the paper in half .

Fold the left and right corner to the centre point.

Cut off the excess part and cut through the middle so that you get two triangles.

    Unfold them

Youve got yourself two squares that will soon turn into two monster bookmarks!

  • Cut out one small square,

Put glue on the top face of the bottom triangle.

and then cut off 2 more triangles.

  • As youve unfolded the small square youll see 4 small squares inside the unfolded square cut one out as shown on the picture below.

Now cut the two triangles out as shown in the picture (diagonally through the square).

Fold the remaining little triangles inward apply some glue to the inner one and youre done!

    Decorate!

  • Our Bookmarks!

We tried to follow the instructions on the screen but it was easier to watch what Mrs Hales was doing and follow her.

  • We had coloured paper all over the table but it was lots of fun!

We liked the googly eyes too.

  • Sam put a long tongue on his one. John put a beak on his.

  • Cole, Griffin and Jayne made bookmarks that had a beak like a bird.

    Zacks had a tongue.

  • Great ideas!!!

The ESOL seniors added a few decorations to make their bookmarks look special.

  • They put them on the corner of a book to see how they looked.

They looked better with black outlines around the eyes and teeth.
