Dear respected donors and readers,

It is a great achievement and I am proud to share with you Human Appeal International’s (HAI) presentation of several of its programmes and projects online. Orphan sponsorship and social caring (these provide a comprehensive service for orphans) are the ٢ core projects that HAI has been successfully and effectively implementing over the last ١٩ years.

Through this issue ‘orphans on line ٢’we will focus on specific case studies and select one or two of the stories in one or more needy countries, to highlight some aspects of the lives of orphans that HAI sponsors. This issue will cover two main stories. One from Pakistan and the other from Jordan. These stories reflect the lives of orphan children and the harsh realities of their families and their direct needs. This online magazine is also a mirror of the activities and performances of the orphans.I hope that this publication will be a reference point for our readers and contribute to an archive of the activities of orphans for whom HAI is consistently working all around the globe.

It is worth mentioning that this electronic magazine is specialised and focused towards orphans in particular. If you would like other information about HAI or its projects you can visit our main website www.humanaappeal.org.uk or our new electronic magazine ‘around the world’ which gives more information and details about human appeal projects and activities all around the world.

Human Appeal International (HAI) aims to secure sponsorship for orphans in order to provide them with a better future to enable them to support themselves and their communities.HAI has been sponsoring thousands of orphans since 1991.

Human Appeal International strongly believes that every child has the right to be fed, clothed, sheltered, have a good education and have access to sufficient medical care. Sidra, a lively spirit full of Merriments and cheers promises the future success, is apparently a happy–go–lucky school girl but how far the miseries inflicted upon her, no one knows.

She became orphaned 13 years ago when her father died of cardiac arrest. Sidra’s elder sister, who after the death of her father, left her educational career. Her younger brother is suffering from a heart disease.

The only bread-winner, their mother’s infectious kidneys made them more distressed. Despite her such condition, she is compelled to do sewing clothes and cutting grass for livelihood.

Sidra’s family lives in a mud house with the only 16ft room have three beds.At one corner, there is a kitchen with hardly any utensils. Her native village is Pandoo, sensitive places of 3 hours drive from Muzaf-farabad the capital city of Pakistan Administrated Jammu Kashmir, on the line of control between India and Paki-stan. Pandoo at 9000ft above sea level brings with it blood freezing win-ters with 6-8 ft snow, which lasts for months to halt the dear ones to meet.

Story of Sidra

At that tender age, human appeal took this future asset under its orphan support pro-gramme and start supporting while she was studying in grade three. Currently she is studying in grade nine in Chinari School; a small town of tehsil Hattian District Muz-affarabad of Pakistan administrated Jammu Kashmir. Sidra was not having any opportunities to get education in her native village so she left for Chinari to live with her maternal uncle in search of bright future.A sense of satisfaction only comes to Sidra’s mother because of the Support that Human Appeal has been doing for Sidra’s bright future.

Sidra wants to be a banker after comple-tion of her studies, so that her mother lives with her happily.

Sponsored orphans among supervised areas in Jordan met their social supervisors during Al Adha and Al Feter Eids for a whole day; this day was full of joy and happiness due to the fact that it included different children’s activities such as, visiting public parks and gardens, play-ing in games ‘centers, visiting children’s muse-ums, eating launch meals and distributing candies, gifts and rewards among the participat-ing children. Furthermore, these activities are designed in a way that enables the handicapped orphans of joining their siblings along with keeping them safe, healthy and enter joy into their small tender hearts. It is worth mentioning that, about 800 orphans of girls and boys have participated in this day from different areas in Jordan.

Rawan the orphan

My life has begun with a tragic accident in 2000 causing my father’s death that created my family‘s biggest nightmare. Everyone was whispering with a pity tone, I heard their murmuring; who is going to feed them? Poor little children! Then my childish mind realized that I am not going to see him anymore, he is gone and nothing is left but people sympathy and wail.

But my life did not continue into misery, a glimpse of hope arose from the dark to help me through, it was the beloved hand of Human Appeal International (HAI) that due to its generosity and sympathy has stood beside me through this tragic time of my life. Although I have lost the most precious person in my life, God has sent me Mr. Ibra-him Ali Al Molla Al Marzooqi who considered me as his daughter, gave me love and took care of a nine years old girl; to him I will be grateful till the rest of my life.

Human Appeal International (HAI) has taught me that light always comes after darkness; thus it lent me a helping hand, sponsored my medical examinations and asked about my progress at school; and that what anyone wants, someone to care about.

On the other hand, Human Appeal Interna-tional (HAI) has discovered my talents and encouraged me to improve and develop them through participating in its cultural theatres and ceremonies, through present-ing some programs and poems of my own composition. Moreover, HAI sponsors the young orphans’ memorizing talent through the Annual Space Channel Contest.

8

Furthermore, Human Appeal International (HAI) was and still the graceful hand that enlightened my world and provoked me to success through which I will build my own future; since I have scored high marks at school and earned many incentive rewards that made me feel as if I am the queen of the world, I will not let HAI's and Dad's hopes down, so I intend to continue my edu-cation.

Being optimistic is something I have learned from Human Appeal International (HAI) and knowing that God will not abandon me.

Due to HAI's sponsorship I became a distinc-tive girl who was chosen as a member in the consultancy council to examine HAI's annual plan that includes many educa-tional, health, social and entertaining sub-jects; through which the supervisors often attend occasions, holidays and entertain-ment places in order to meet other orphans.

Should I thank Human Appeal Interna-tional (HAI) for its generosity and provok-ing will or a thanking word will not meet what this great mother has given me; especially that my second father’s trust in it did not fade away. Now I am this young girl who found success and happi-ness that will lead the rest of her life story along with HAI's love and support.

Human Appeal International has been known to provide much needed health care and medical camps in much needed areas around the world. The beneficiaries include men, women and children with various types illnesses.

Health Care

11

Social care is integrated within the orphan sponsorship scheme; however one of the most important aspects is that orphans are not made to feel any less special than other children at school, But they are being taken care and mingled among their societies with equal potentials to achieve their best.

Social Care

12

How does the scheme work?

HAI field staff identifies needy orphans whose father or both parents have passed away and are in dire need of sponsorship. After careful assessment, each case is then forwarded to our office in Manchester for sponsorship. Our field staff is in regular contact with the orphan and their family and make frequent visits ensuring the orphan is receiving the full benefits of the sponsorship.

How is the sponsorship money spent?

A monthly donation of £25 will provide food, clothing, education (fees, uniforms andBooks) and basic health care for the child. A small amount is also given to help the family or guardian for the upkeep of the orphan. With your help we can ensure more orphans are no longer deprived of what should be rightfully theirs, the chance to grow up healthy and happy.

Do we take any administration charges?

100% of your donation will reach the orphan. HAI does nottake any administration charges.
