After eighteen years located in Frith Street the homonymous gallery moved to a 2000 square meters space at Golden Square. The aim was to maintain the minimal and abstractive style that characterised the first gallery while adapting to a new bigger space and enlarged program. The ground floor consists of the main exhibition space and offices for the director and personnel. and the basement contains a secondary exhibition space and a number of auxiliary spaces. The rigid custom made wooden furniture and staircase are softening the harshness of the exposed concrete floor and glass partition walls.

The private residence in Blenheim crescent is composed of a double storey building, which is not listed, and a warehouse extension. The client wanted to replace the warehouse with a new extension that, on ground level, would establish a better connection with the entrance and the living areas of the main house. The new extension would include also a basement containing the cellar, the gym, the playroom and the entire auxiliary and storage spaces. The proposed extension maintained the warehouse's height and lateral walls. The green roof, solar panels and the operable hardwood bris soleil on the southeast side, are passive design strategies that reduce the house's carbon emissions. The windows and skylights are strategically positioned in order to allow optimum ventilation and lighting, as well as to take advantage of the views to the communal garden on the south side.

Chapter Arts Centre has a strong history of contributing to community regeneration in the urban environment of South Wales and offers a rolling program of performance, films and exhibitions. The project was commissioned in order to identify improvements and upgrades to the public parts of the centre. What became clear in the process of design was the importance of opening up the centre to give it a greater connectivity between inside and outside and to give it a more welcoming and contemporary public presence. The proposal suggested repairing and maintaining the existing red brick building, opening up and extending the entrance, extending the cafe-bar area by enclosing the existing rear patio area with a new roof that also formed a terrace for the artists, opening up the theatre foyer and creating a new light box to the south front elevation and adding a new multi-purpose space at the front of the building.

The White House is a universally recognised symbol of political authority and a proven – and successful - architectural embodiment of power. We would like to keep it as it is, in the position that it is and in the city that it is in. With one additional. The Other House.
The White House bears the trace of every individual who has been given the right to reside in it, those who have won the majority of votes in each of the 56 presidental elections in America. What there is no trace of, however, no reference to, nor symbol of, are 56 and more of those who tried and failed to gain this office. Without these, the Unelected, there would be no Elected.
The Other House is a spatial representation of the Unelected. It is a mirror of the White House. But stripped of its functions. It serves not as a memorial but as a reminder.
The Other House does not undermine the White House nor acts in opposition to it, but works with it. It is a counterweight. It becomes apparent only when one starts to enquire about it and goes beyond the surface.

The project required two family houses in Dionyssos, an emerging upper-class suburb of Athens. According to the site's urban requirements, the houses had to be united in one building. By twisting the volumes of the buildings enabled both to have south warded yards and view to the neighbouring hills on the east. The house volumes are ascending to the west following the plot's inclination. The north side of the plot is used for accessing the houses and the common garage, which is situated on the second basement. A stone wall on the north side of each house is offering protection from the harsh winder winds typical for this area, while the majority of the openings are looking south. The tiled roof is obligatory.

Maniatis hotel is situated in the historic centre of Sparta. The original building was constructed in the 70 s and a drastic renovation of lobby and restaurant area was needed. A minimal solution was proposed in order to be coherent to the Spartan rigorous and sincere character. The central point of the space design, the reception, is located between the restaurant and the lobby. Mobile glass partition walls are used to separate or unify the space depending on the need, allowing the sunlight to penetrate at any time. The relatively small dimensions of the space are visually increased by using a special wall painting technique with metal gloss. For the same reason, a lot of transparent and metallic furniture is used. The furniture was selected with desire to resemble the spontaneity and comfort ness of a house and not an austere logic of a hotel lobby. Some parts of illumination are custom made in order to contribute to the space s character.

Polis hotel is situated in the centre of Athens. The original building was done in the 70 s and renovation of all public spaces (reception and a small lobby- bar on the first level, toilets and offices on the second, restaurant, kitchen, lobby and bistro on the third and roof garden on the terrace)was needed. The intention was to create a completely new atmosphere that would be fresh and friendly. Due to the restricted space, especially on the third level, there were proposed solutions with transformable character, i.e. furniture that could serve different functions, movable partition walls in order to smudge the limits of each functionThe air-condition ducts are visible, instead of being hidden in suspended ceiling, offering additional height in the third level. The use of art works such as the wire sculptures in the entrance and the lobby and the four meter long pearl chandelier that is unifying the first and second level, contributes to the forthcoming and distinct atmosphere of the hotel spaces.

The main toilets are situated on a mezzanine floor of small dimensions between the main entrance and the lobby on the first floor. It is an auxiliary space but it is situated in a central point for the hotel. Instead of concealing the space we decided to turn it into an interesting feature. The entrance halls in female and male toilets are separated by glass partitions using a film of unidirectional visibility that enlarge the dimensions of the space while securing privacy. A four meter long pearl chandelier made by Parisian jewellery artist Aris Geldis is between the two halls and it is also visible from the mezzanine. The chandelier that extends to two floor levels unifies the lobby with the entrance while creating an interesting ambient in the mezzanine space.

The Shop is a store of contemporary urban clothing in the centre of Athens. The client requested three different designs for the shop window, each one for a different collection: spring, summer and autumn. Prints on cardboard, astro turf, plastic animals and ribbons, all attached to dexion frame, were creating a funny and surprising stage for the manequins. It was also a quest to create a result that would attracting the passer-bys attention without overshadowing the exhibited clothes. .

Space of only 13m2 was rented for this T-shirt store in the centre of Belgrade. The owner, a young street wear manufacturer, wanted to gain both an original display of products, a significant storage space and enough room for customers to freely move around. The solution was found in creating a closet-like structure that would group and conceal all store's functions: seller's desk, cabin, display space, storage space. Some of these are accessed directly, others by opening panels. The materials chosen for the store are trying to bridge the gap between different tastes of several target groups that vary from alternative youth to fancy urban crowd. The closet-like structure has a light steel construction and is covered by OSB panels. Rough panels made without surface layer reveal its' wood chip structure. Except for a layer of varnish, panels are left untreated and thus making a contrast to silky wallpapers that wrap the store. A special feature are plastic boxes hanging from the ceiling. They provide extra storage space. When properly folded, 10 to 15 T-shirts can fit, on top of each other, in each of these boxes. As they are transparent from below, the boxes also serve as a T-shirt display element.

The competition brief required the preliminary drawings of a new mayor hall in the city of Ioannina in Greece. The proposed solution, apart from being a functioning contemporary building, creates a new public space that continues in the interior of the building. The embracing position of the building and the flux of the movements of the public invoke permeability and civic participation. The entry won the second price.

To tone the contrast down, facades are treated by the same material. The hight and the size of the warehouse is the maximum allowed by urban regulations.

Mesogea is the neighbouring area of Athens new airport, which is nowadays developing intensively as an industrial and warehouse quarter. The customer wanted to construct a logistic warehouse with office facilities in order to rent. The requirements were to create the storage space rentable to two different customers. The softer, easier to excavate soil found in the back of the plot during the geological study determined the position of the basement. The main U beam column structure partially follows the basement's concrete columns grid. Two functions, storage and office, are enhanced by the use of different materials.

This mixed-use building is on one of the busiest and fastest Athenian avenues. The volume of the building was designed with the intention of capturing fragments of drivers' attention while speeding along in their cars. The base of the building consists of three retail units which extend to the basement as storage space. The upper floors are open plan offices and are accessed by a separate entrance. The difference between retail and office units is accentuated by the break of main volume in two and the use of different materials.

The design of the pavilion had to represent the aesthetics of each company while encompassing elements of surprise in order to attract the visitors of the exhibition inside the pavilion and also visually engage them for the longest possible time. Important elements that influenced the design are the direction of the flow of visitors, the size and location of the exhibition space and the marketing strategies of each of the companies.

The customer owned two neighbouring plots in Porto Rafti that could not be converted into one larger plot because of the legislative requirements of the area. Therefore two attached but autonomous habitation buildings had to be built. The size of each building is the maximum allowed and it is composed of three floors and the piloti. The piloti maximises the view to the sea front in every apartment and adds 2m to the allowed height of the building. Each apartment has a living room and dinning room facing the sea, a service zone containing the kitchen and the bathrooms and the bedrooms facing the north hills. The facades of the two buildings have similar character and are derived from the area's characteristics.

The competition was an attempt to stop the campaign for demolishing two listed building that are between the Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum and thus partially blocking the clear line of sight between these two athenian landmarks. Our proposal tries to achieve a reconciliation: as these buildings are turning their backs to the museum they need to establish a new relationship with it and in the same way that buildings of all adjacent blocks are facing the museum, so should these two. Morphology of the main facades is recreated on top of the equivalent secondary ones. Perforated stainless steel panels are fixed onto metal frames and positioned 600mm in front from the existing facades. The motif on the panels represents the facades on D. Areopagitou and Mitsaion Streets and is created by modifying perforation density. Perforations allow for ventilation and create shade without obstructing daylight. Panels are treated with electricity to gain yellow gray shades that match with the rock of Acropolis dominating the sight

The structure is transported and stored as a container. When installed on a site, the container opens and creates a space for a simple game. The game gives an opportunity to people to express themselves publicly in written form. At the front side of the container, the texts are displayed on public space on a mechanical screen. At the back side, texts are prepared discussed and negotiated.Parasite / EphemeralThe structure is not mounted but unfolded. It can function fully or partially open adapting its shape to the site. When it is installed the container breaks to different rectangular surfaces, the inside is exposed and a space is created from vertical and horizontal rectangular elements. Using rectangular forms and rough materials the structure adapts to the morphology of the urban space of Athens. Its main facade (the screen) is changing every time it is used. Its ephemerality and its changeability are expressed in its form when it is open.

The brief required the replacement of the existing residence's gate with a new one with an addition of a garage shelter. An L shaped concrete element unifies the entrance and the garage. The wood planks that are cladding the doors are fitted apart just enough to allow for a short glimpse at the interior from outside. The strict geometrical shape of the entrance complex built in rough and unadorned materials is complimenting residence's elegant and simple style.

The Project required both the curation of an exhibition and the design of the exhibition space which was inside the monastery of Santa Maria de Pedralves in Barcelona. The topic of the exhibition had to be related to "malestar= being in an bad condition". The topic that was chosen was solitude expressed as miscommunication. The works that were chosen are criticizing the rupture of social and personal relationships and are culminating with "white" ,a site-specific installation about alienation. The character of the space was maintained by minimizing any intervention necessary for the exhibition and leaving as many uncovered surfaces as possible. Concrete L-shaped panels in natural colour were used for exhibiting the works and directing the public. The spatial characteristics were completely and deliberately erased inside "white".The visitor enters and is directed though corridors with impeccable white surfaces to private viewing booths. He is listening to a incomprehensible murmur. The sound stops inside the booths. He alone can peep to a white void cube.

This is a project dedicated to Joan Brossa (1918-1998) a Catalan abstract poet and artist whose work is characterized by irony and allegory. It focuses on the transformation of a poem into an installation which took place at Barceloneta, Barcelona. The construction is based on the children's game where the two cans and a connecting string are used to form a "telephone". The construction is sym-bolic and analogous to the chosen poem.
The cans are symbolising the ideas' containers. The string is connecting them actually and metaphorically. The repetition of "telephones" is instructing the rhythm. Each one of them is composed of two equal parts that are in the begin-ning and the end of it, as well as of a third part that connects them, just as Brossa's poem is starting and ending with two same verses, while a third, differ-ent one unites them.
The linearity of their form refers to the area's character, the strong line of the horizon, the break of the buildings and the edge of the wooden deck. The materials and colours are kept as simple as possible and refer to the simple and direct way of Brossa's expression.
Homage at Joan Brossa_Barcelona
The public is participating actively in the installation. The visitor is listening from one can. In the other side, there is the sea. Is the sea talking? Can anybody listen to the fishes moving in the water? The visitor is unavoidably thinking. Ideas are moving in the brain without any specific subject. They move into the water. Free.
The lamp was created as a flashing gift to the loved ones who live abroad. Entire lamp can be dismantled and fitted in a narrow box, easy to post abroad. The lamp was to be reassembled within 5 minutes. Any image can be attached to the paper cover. X-rays were used in the pictured example as meassages of absolute intimacy and sincerity. Once turned on the lamp remindes to the loved ones of your absence, yet partial presence.

Tirism is a short low-fi video. The five episodes of the video describe my first visit to Belgrade and Novi Sad, Serbia, giving only the outlines of my daily activities. Carefully avoiding and deliberately neglecting the main reasons of my visit to Serbia, the video is depicting only peculiarities of the Serbian cities that I am visiting, small personal details in my closest environment and glitches in the video equipment used for the making of that video. Tirism was presented in Deputnale Film Festival in Linz, Austria.

An installation literally on the edge of the Valletta Fortress. An oversized table game built with in-situ found material, engaging concepts of greediness and power seizure. The winner is the player who reaches first the central tower and seizes the power. Players face different options in each one of the game s positions. The ones who select ethical or easy, untroubled options die. Only the greediest and most determined can win. But his/her end is not as happy as it seems. The game is narrated.

Voodoroom pavilion is a spatial experiment on information access. Enclosed and introvert, it is reversing the characteristics of the typical info stand. The outer walls are made of scrap material found in the area. This results in an unpolished appearance. Visitors are treated as initiates. Inside the light is very dim. The space providing information lies in the core of the space but it cannot be accessed or viewed directly. .Visitors should cross a set of narrow corridors, step into unstable floor and search for the core. An imaginary voodoo witch lurks inside. The information is granted to the brave ones.

The basic goal of the building is to interest the public in aquatic environmental issues. It consists of an aquarium and a museum accessible to public as well as a scientific center. It is situated in Ydroussa, an island close to Athenian coast, on a 16 meters high cliff that offers breathtaking views to the sea around it and the city opposite to it. The boat trip of the visitors in order to visit the building is establishing the first contact with the sea. The main entrance is on the upper level of the cliff and the visitors tour finishes at the sea level. The overall form of the building is composed of two different structures - a structural framework based on a orthogonal system that hosts the scientific center and a metallic shell created by deconstructing the structure of a sea crustacean that hosts the museum .The form express the duality that we see in both the project (nature/technology) and the site (island/city). The aquarium is dug underground since it is an artificial environment that requires totally controlled conditions.

Sophocles said "theatre is the mirror of life". Inspired by that phrase, the form of the building is actually an inversion, a mirroring of the existing building conditions in the centre of Athens which are dominated by a repetitive rectangular grid. The "shell" of the school is formed by non rectangular surfaces while the metal structure, which supports the shell and organizes the human movement, is organized in an orthogonal grid. By using a system of mountable platforms and stairs attached on the grid, a variety of theatre scenes can be crated inside the building or in the inner yard. The educational spaces are composing the base of the building that opens towards the smaller streets which maintain a strong neighbourhood feeling. The theatrical performance is by that way interfering with the daily activity of the district. The videoteque and the theatre are forming two distinct volumes in the top of the building that are united by the foyer and are turning towards the main avenue, expressing their public character.

The centre consists of a store, a small amphitheatre used for projections, a cafe and a space for exhibitions. The main lines of the plan resemble the movement of the opening of the camera lens with the projection amphitheatre as the focus point and the rest of the commercial functions evolving around it .The furniture, the pavement and the façade are designed to give the impression of image fragmentation. By incorporating screens and posters in the mobile equipment, the centre is emitting information both to users and passers-by.

The archaeological site of Eleysina is a place of great importance, because of the "Eleusinian mysteries", secret initiation ceremonies, that were taking place there. The initiation was believed to unite the worshipper with the Gods .The fertility of the earth, the springs and the flow of water as productive energy, the descent in the underground word, were part of the myths of Demeter and Persephone that held strong symbolisms during the ceremonies. The project required the design of the entrance on the archaeological site. The main concept of the synthesis derived from the long procession of initiates from Acropolis to Eleusina .The route is marked in the main square preceding the entrance by a line of shallow running water. The entrance takes the form of a sunken garden which is nourished by the water flow. The visitor follows the flow, descents in the garden and emerges again in order to visit the site.
