Fourth Indian Cartilage Society -Conference
Indian CartilageSociety conducted atwo day conferenceon Joint Preservationin the city ofCoimbatore withparticipation fromOrthopaedicSurgeons, KneeSurgeons andArthroplastySurgeons from Indiaand Abroad. Theconference labeled, 4th Congress of Indian Cartilage Society highlighted theTheme, “Preserving the Joints” with paper presentations, discussions andlive surgeries.
Speaking on the congress, Dr. David V Rajan, Congress President andFounder, Ortho-One Orthopaedic Speciality Centre said, “It was a pleasureto have hosted the event in Coimbatore as this is an upcoming medical hubwith a lot of young minds. The city is experiencing a wide exposure in thefield of medicine and this conference was a great opportunity for youngsurgeons to get educated on the science of joint preservation.”
The conference had discussions on the advanced treatment methods usedin cartilage repair, stem cell therapy, and also on “Make in India’ productsdeveloped for the cartilage repair procedure. “Conferences of such kind areessential for the medical practitioners who are the first circle of individualswho need awareness on treating joints. It is through them that the general
public receives awareness on treatment of joints.” added Dr. K. SantoshSahanand, Congress Secretary and Cartilage Reconstruction surgeon, Ortho-One Orthopaedic Specialty Centre.
The two day event witnessed live surgeries and lectures by Internationalfaculty. The Indian Cartilage Society plans to create a larger platform acrossthe country and conduct more activities through the coming year.
