“We’ll Meet Again” was one of the famous songs of the period and was sung by Vera Lynn, who later became Dame Vera Lynn. You will probably have heard it already and it has also been used as a song to help us whilst we can’t see each other as we usually do at this moment in history too and is also a charity CD for the NHS at the moment. The Queen even referred to this song in her recent speech to the country at the beginning of April 2020 so you may have seen and heard versions of this song already as it is very topical at the moment. “We’ll Meet Again” is the nation’s song to commemorate the 75 th

Anniversary of VE day on Friday 8th May 2020 at 9pm on our doorsteps – will you and your family be able to join in perhaps? Enjoy watching and listening to some different versions. Watch some of the performances by both Dame Vera and ‘cover versions’. Cover versions are songs or music played by others, not the original artist. They can be very different interpretations. TASKS : (Choose some or all)

1. listen to the different versions below – see which one you like best and talk about what is the same about each version of the song. What’s different? Think about the speed of the music, the instruments used to accompany the song, the different voices. Listen to the different versions and fill in the chart on pages 5 & 6
