Peripheral Osteoma at the Posterior Basis of Mandible: An Unusual
Location
Osteomas are benign, slow-growing osteogenic tumors commonly
occurring in the craniofacial bones. Osteomas are characterized by the
proliferation of compact and/or cancellous bone. They can be central,
extraskeletal type or peripheral. In this poster, we presented a large solitary
peripheral osteoma located in the basis of the left posterior mandible and
causing mild facial deformity and pain by palpation in a 43-year-old man.
Radiographic examination by computed tomography revealed radiopacity with a
well-circumscribed, irregular surfaced mass approximately 3cm in size. The
osteoma was removed surgically, and no recurrence has been observed.

Osteomalar iyi huylu, yava byyen kraniyofasial kemiklerde sklkla

Bu posterde, 43 yanda erkek bir hastada hafif derecede fasiyal deformiteye ve
palpasyonda arya neden olan sol posterior mandibula tabannda lokalize byk

incelemesinde iyi snrl, dzensiz yzeye sahip, 3 cm apnda radyoopasite
