Erlinda Mikal

She holds a B.Ed. degree in TESL and is currently teaching at Centre for Language Studies, UNIMAS. She has taught in a secondary school prior to joining the university. In addition, she has been involved as a facilitator for various workshops conducted at UNIMAS.

Chuah Kee Man

He graduated with a B.Sc. degree in TESL and a M.Sc. degree in Cognitive Science. He is a non-native speaker of English who enjoys learning the language as much as sharing what he has learned. He creates an enjoyable classroom environment that assists the learning of English. He has been teaching English to international students at UNIMAS since 2010.

Course Details

This course is designed to improve participants’ communicative skills for social purposes and to develop their basic ability to read and write. It emphasises on the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In particular, students are taught how to communicative effectively in different settings through a variety of exercises and interactive activities. It highlights the appropriate and accurate forms and functions of English language used for various situations.

Duration 10 weeks (on Saturdays) - 2 hours per week (10.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m.)

Target group Non-native speakers (both local and foreign) who have very limited English.
