Thank you for all that you do! I wanted to use this space to say thank you to a few people for their help with the club these past few months. First thank you goes to Deb and Duffy Peters for donating to the club so we could purchase a new ice machine. The previous machine was on its last leg and was installed back in 1981(we got our mon-eys worth from it).
Next is Karen and Dale Person for purchasing a mini freezer for the bar. It has made the new dessert drink menu that much more feasible and boy have we been selling those drinks. Joni is having a hard time keeping the ice cream in stock!
We would like to thank Dwight and Mary Lobberecht for the new Ninja Blender. We created a new menu of dessert drinks and they have become very popular. I don’t think the old blend-er could have held up to the challenge, not to mention it is a lot quieter.
Also I would like to thank Stan and Lou Blew for getting us
some new wine glasses. With more large events happening we
were having a hard time keeping up with enough glasses.
Finally I want to thank Jeanette Curran, Lois Knott, Audrey
Keck, Mike Sexton and anyone else I may have forgotten. Over
the winter season they have all helped with either decorating
for the upcoming holidays to doing club repairs. It is really nice
to have a membership that enjoys putting in a little extra time
and energy into making the club look as nice and festive as it
did this year. Thank You Everyone!

Lets Grow the Club!
New Junior Dues Structure
We recently changed the Junior Dues structure to help en-
courage growth in the club with younger members. We
created a Junior Family 25-40 years of age, Junior Single
rate 25-40 years of age, and started an under 25 rate. We
think this rate structure change will really help with
creating the next generation of club members. If anyone
would like more information on this rate change or know
of anyone who might be interested in joining please
contact Mike.
Any member who successfully recruits a NEW
member to the club will receive credits in the amount of
the new membership.
Recruit a new golf membership and you will
receive a 375.00 credit.
Recruit a new dining membership and you will
receive a 65.00 credit.
There is no limit to how many credits you can re-
ceive. If you can recruit 5 new members you will receive
5 credits! Junior memberships excluded. If you have any
questions please feel free to contact Mike in the office
and he would be glad to help.

Golf Season
New Tennis Pro This is Doug Pumroy and he will be offering tennis in-
struction this summer at the Ottumwa Country Club. He has 36
years of experience teaching tennis to all levels of skill from be-
ginner, to state champions, to players on the professional tour.
He has worked at racquet clubs in Pittsburgh, Seattle, and
tennis camps in San Antonio. He can play tennis both right and
left handed, and can offer creative solutions to problems students
may have.
He has a great desire to regrow the game of tennis back
to what it once was and truly believes there is something for eve-
ryone interested in learning the game or improving their own
skill.
Keep your eyes open for future newsletters with updates
on clinics, junior programs, and lessons.
Golf season is basically turning its head to us and saying
“ come out and play “. With that in mind I wanted to leave a
few reminders of good course etiquette. Please fix all ball
marks on the greens and replace your divots. Allow groups
that are moving faster to play through when at all possible.
Also as we move into spring, we increases the chance of poor
course conditions, please be understanding that there are
times we may decide to not allow carts and that it really is for
the benefit of the course and all who want to play on it. Until
then we look forward to seeing everyone out there.
Also if anyone is interested, I was thinking about
starting a tee box adoption program. What it means is that you
can adopt the tee boxes on a hole and decorate them how you
want. You can choose the flowers, maybe put a planter or two
out there. If anyone is interested in this idea let Mike know in
the clubhouse.
Lori will be organizing a
March Madness bracket for
the NCAA tournament.
Make sure you check in
with her at the bar for
details and get yourself
entered in to win. Good
Luck
