With our passion for good foods and experience as third generation flatbread bakers, Signature Flatbreads has grown from a small family business to a global leader in flatbread production, with state-of-the-art bakeries in both the UK and India.

Signature Flatbreads is on the rise, having taken home the 2016 Bakery Manufacturer of the Year award at the 29th annual Bakery Industry Awards. The win comes after the opening of a £10m state-of-the-art extension to the Dunstable bakery earlier this year. Charles Eid says:

tortillaOur high quality, soft and authentic tortilla wraps are produced on bespoke, state-of-the-art and fully automated production lines.

Tortillas can be prepared in sizes between 15cms and 30cms, as well as a variety of flavours, which include plain, chilli, seeded, Mediterranean herb and even a low calorie healthier option. Our tortillas are guaranteed to be a consistent size, shape, weight and colour to meet specifications. Tortilla wraps can be supplied ambient or frozen.

naanOur naan bread is baked using traditional recipes with quality, natural ingredients in bespoke ovens that have been created to replicate the authentic tandoor clay oven baking process.

Our flexible large capacity production lines enable us to produce high quality naan breads to a variety of specifications. Available ambient or frozen in a range of flavours, shapes and sizes from 20g to 300g, including hand stretched.

pizza BaSEWe can supply a range of Italian style hand crafted pizza bases. The pizza bases are flame baked using traditional recipes and ingredients to produce authentic high quality products.

Our highly automated, flexible production lines can produce pizza bases efficiently in high volumes enabling us to offer quality products at great value. The thickness of the pizza base can be varied to suit customer requirements.

We offer pizza bases with a variety of flavoured toppings including oregano, chilli flakes and pepper. Bases can be supplied ambient or frozen.

flatBrEadOur soft, light and flexible flatbreads can be prepared with a wide range of toppings to add variety and excitement, whether used for an innovative dipping bread or full flavoured sandwich carrier.

Our flatbreads are supplied ambient or frozen and can be produced in a variety of shapes and sizes from 20g to 300g.

chapattiA classic Indian flatbread, our premium quality chapattis are made using authentic methods and traditional recipes.

To produce the unique chapatti flavour and texture, finely ground flour is baked on a cast iron surface to replicate the traditional process of using a tava, just on a much bigger scale.

The perfect accompaniment, our chapattis can be produced in a variety of shapes and sizes, from 20g up to 300g, and can be supplied ambient or frozen.

pittaOur pitta, a versatile and soft, leavened flatbread, is prepared with care and baked at high temperatures.

Specialist production lines, designed and built in-house to achieve optimum results, ensure the layers of dough rise and separate to form perfect pockets ready for use as a sandwich carrier, kebab, or cut up to be used with sauces and dips. Pitta bread can be supplied ambient or frozen and can be produced in a variety of shapes and sizes between 20g and 300g.

Sandwich thinIdeal for topping, filling or toasting, sandwich thins have driven significant growth in the market for alternative sandwich carriers.

Developed to meet consumer demand for healthy options and more variety, our high quality sandwich thins are available in a variety of specifications.

We can produce plain, wholemeal or seeded Thins in a multitude of different shapes, textures and flavours, from 20g to 300g. Thins can be supplied ambient, frozen or chilled.

parathaA rich flatbread made with ghee (clarified butter) to provide a layered and flaky texture.

Our highly automated lines can produce authentic paratha efficiently, enabling us to offer a quality product at great value. We offer paratha ambient or frozen under a range of flavours including ajwain seeds.

We supply Paratha ambient or frozen which makes it very easy and convenient for our customers to consume it whenever they want to.

crumpEtLight, fluffy crumpets with a characteristic honeycomb centre and golden colour.

Baked to a standard diameter but can be produced in a variety of thicknesses. This quintessential tea time favourite is supplied ambient or frozen.

pancakELight and fluffy scotch style pancakes are available in a variety of flavours, including plain and lemon & raisin.

They can be prepared in any size between 5cm and 13cm. Pancakes are supplied ambient and frozen.

Consumer demand for lighter, low calorie options, along with new product innovation and popular high street trends, such as breakfast wraps, is transforming the bread industry.

The major bakery innovation to really appeal to this changing consumer demand in recent years has been the sandwich thin, which generates around £62m in annual sales. But, the big question is what’s next?

We’ve seen a lot of ‘healthy’ innovation in fresh artisan breads, with the addition of vegetables and seeds popular with consumers. We’re now also seeing that influence in the pre-prepared alternative sandwich carrier market, with sales of flatbread sandwiches growing, and product innovation increasingly focusing on lighter options.

In our time, at Honeytop and now Signature Flatbreads, we’ve seen a lot of trends

come and go. But, with supermarkets clearing space on the shelves for alternative, lighter bread products, it looks like the demand for these options shows no sign of slowing down.

We have completed the construction of a large expansion project which has seen £10m invested in two new production lines and associated facilities to meet the expanding capacity needed for our rapidly growing company.
