INTRODUCTIONKhanda’s history stems way back since 1984, however, as a Black Owned South African Company, I-Khanda Engineering has built up a high and esteemed reputation since its takeover in 2001.

Our company guarantees professional, high quality deliverables in the realm of automotive engineering, diesel fuel injection and in the automotive electrical fields.

We work according to Dekra ISO 9001:9015 quality certification and our automotive engineering workshop facility as well as staff expertise are highly valued amongst our high profile commercial, corporate and military clients such as amongst other:

a. NTI (Northwest Transport Investments) who needs rapid response and turnaround time in the bus transport industry.

b. UD Trucks who partnered with us regarding their corporate remanufacturing program via the UD dealership network.

c. Armscor/SANDF is a client that we serve as an officially appointed Deutz Diesel Power (DDP) repair agent for the maintenance-, repair and rebuild of Deutz engines for Military applications.

PGSI Group (PTY) Ltd is 100% owned by Mrs RS Nyembe (Bongi as individual)Both DAWENU Group and PGSI Group are Level 1 BBBEE companies ito the South African DTI’s Codes of Good Practice.

I-Khanda Engineering in its own right is evaluated as a Level 2, contributor to BBBEE, which allows for 125% preferential procurement recognition

Bongi and Owen are the executive directors of the company whilst Daan Visagie as an experienced businessperson represents the 49% minority shareholder on the EXCO.Henry Human who is the General Manager of the company, has been involved in the industry for 25 years. An experienced group of qualified technicians supports Henry ensuring work of exceptional quality.

We pride ourselves in the ‘Intensive Care Unit’ like tidiness and neatness of all our

working spaces and especially of assembly cells- and Dyno control room areas.

OEM Specifications. All repair- and rebuilding work is done strictly in accordance with OEM Specifications & Stipulations.

Spare Parts. Only genuine spare parts are used, unless specifically otherwise authorized in writing by the customer.

Quality Control. Quality control is conducted strictly in accordance with DEKRA ISO

9001:2009 quality standards, which is overseen by our Planning Department on a daily

basis, in order to avoid non-conformities.

Client focus. The Needs of our clients as well as any non- conformances that may occur are professionally managed and investigated. In the rare occurrence of such


instances, special expert investigations are referred to professional tertiary institutions.

Production lead times. Normal production lead-time for the rebuilding of engines is 5 working days after confirmation of order.

Operational Software. In order to back-up our service delivery transparency, we use the well-known Autoplan Software for integration of job card control. With integration of all data pertaining to a specific job, from quotation to job card to invoice, reflecting each and every step or action of the process, with the ability to store and link relevant photographic evidence and all related documentation pertaining to the specific job.

Accreditations. The following accreditations are of importance:a. RMI (Retail Motor Industry Organization)b. SAQA and MERSETA (Apprentice training up to NQF Level 3.

Warranties. The following warranties apply on specific condition that prescribed post-delivery engine and/or component service and maintenance are done strictly in accordance with OEM service schedules.

a. LDV/Passenger Vehicle engines – first of 3 Months or 10 000 km

b. Heavy Vehicle Engines - first of 12 Months or 100 000 kmc. Components – first of 3 Months or 10 000 km

SERVICE AND AFTER SALES SERVICE.

Attitude. This is the ‘face’ of our business and is based on service delivery. Most service organizations perform quality service and render after sale service. However, the question should always be posed as to how prepared they are to perform these services at all hours under trying circumstances. This is the I-Khanda standard of preparedness to assist all valued clients under all circumstances.

Free Delivery. I.-Khanda renders a free delivery and collection service within a 120km radius from Pretoria in all complete engine rebuilds (outside 120km radius current AA rates apply).


PRICING

Value for Money. Pricing is based on a principle of professional value for money. I- Khanda Engineering is not in the business of low standard work, however, our labour tariff is reasonably priced.

All prices exclude VAT

Pricing is always negotiable depending contract value and based on OEM prescribed guidance with OEM approved flat rates being quoted. Where no OEM flat rate exists, hours will be quoted to mutual acceptance.

However, either we do it professionally or we don’t do it at all

FINANCES AND ADMINISTRATION

Financial administration is conducted with Pastel Accounting software and figures are prepared to the point of trial balance before the complete audit pack is sent to the accountants.I-Khanda Engineering has contracted Botha Accountants to manage financial control measures, which assures sound financial practices in the office. Invoices are related to an official order number, with additional work performed

being awarded an additional order number(s);

Payment to be effected within 30 days after date of invoice;

Payment is preferred by means of Electronic Bank Transfer.

C.O.D. Clients.

A deposit of 50% required with order confirmation.

Outstanding 50% payable in cash or by EFT before final acceptance Ex-Factory

Insurance.

I-Khanda Engineering has a comprehensive insurance policy that covers the unlikelihood of bad workmanship to the amount of R5 million. However, clients are in fact responsible to make their own insurance arrangements. I-Khanda Engineering will not be liable for any loss or damage to client’s property while same is on premises of I-Khanda during repairs or rebuilding.

HUMAN RESOURCES

HR/IR Functions. All HR/IR functions are managed by the PGSI Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd in association with SEESA, an accredited Labour Relations Company.

Labour Disputes. All our labour related disputes are specifically managed by SEESA. Career Planning. Individual career planning for personnel is regarded as a high priority in order to motivate personnel and to plan, maintain, and extend our high quality of operational expertise. A career matrix regarding each individual staff member is in place.

Staff complement. I-Khanda at any time employs around 20 full time employees. We also contract individuals with expertise for specific short term individual tasks.

ENVIRONMENTAL INTEGRITYBeing involved in an industry that is prone to oil spillage and pollution we are extremely aware of putting measures in place to protect our environment.
