Dear friends, to know each other better from “Trinidad Ruiz” would like to tell you how we spend a day in our school, the things we do every days, what are our routines and our time tables. Hope you’ll like it and we will learn altogether… would it be the same in Spain than in your country?

As you already know our school is full of Children from 0 to 3 years old, so the organization of the time and activities is based on the routines and needs of our Children. Later we will be telling you about the routines, but for you to have an idea our day in the school is divided this way:

For the Children is an special moment because their

friends welcome them, the teacher welcomes as well the child living him/her a big kiss and saying good morning, etc.

It’s a very quiet moment where the Children go around the classroom freely and choose the toys they want to play with. It’s a perfect moment for communication between families and teachers.

This may be the quieter moment of the day. Children are not tired and pay attention and also enjoy a lot with the activities we make during this time.

In the assembly all the Children sit down on the mat, in front of the teacher and say each other good morning, sing their favourites songs, tell a story, and talk about what they are going to do that day.

The activities are very varied and we have different activities every days. We look for the enjoyment and participation of the children as well as their development. We tell you some of the favourite activities.

WORKSHOPS: There are activities of exploration and manipulation related with the contents that are being worked in the class. In the workshops children make plastic activities with different materials and techniques where the final product is wonderful.

THE TREASURES´ BASKET: Free exploration game where the youngest explore, manipulate and discover the use of the different objects that we use in our daily life, as sponges, spoons, combs, eyeglasses, brushes…

HEURISTIC GAME: Children From 1 to 2 years old explore, manipulate and investigate different daily life objects and the action possibilities that may have. The materials are presented in a tidy way, selected by the teachers, so in each session there will be two or three different kinds of materials.

ENGLISH: Sessions based on music, psicomotricity and senses where Children have varied activities with a British teacher, our teacher. Children enjoy a lot and discover a second language.

BABY-LIBRARY: There are different activities related to stories and children’s literature. Every month we choose a story related to the contents that are being worked and go to the baby-library to tell the story and make any activity about it.

These are just some of the activities we have in the school every days and which we enjoy and learn a lot of things. Aside from these, we make other activities as music, psicomotricity, directed activities…

It’s a very important part of the day, because here are work aspects as personal hygiene and cleanliness, promoting their independence. Depending on the moment of the day, we will work aspects as washing our hands and face, pee control, the importance of being clean…

It is the favourite moment for our Children, where they play freely in contact with nature.

Here, our Children make the movement activities that are so needed. They are also in contact with other children of different ages and with all the teachers of the school.

As well as the toilet time, lunch is a very important educative part in our school, because not only the Children are well feeded but we work many concepts and attitudes related to feeding and nutrition, paying special attention to the development of the children’s independence.

As it is very important to respect the rhythm and needs of the Children in our day, the Children can not miss their sleeping time.

In the classroom there is a place where our Children have their beds or cots to lie down and have a “siesta” after lunch. The babies even sleep a little during the morning.

Eventhoug there is time during the day for the Children to relax, as we have mentioned, we respect their rhythms and need so each child sleeps the time he/she needs. Of course, we give much importance to the respect towards the others.

As well as in the entrance it is the moment of the day when teachers and families exchange information about children, when goodbye to their friends and teachers to next day.
