We chose a Cheetah because we had a lot of knowledge about what a cheetah does. It’s a unique fast and powerful animal to make a toy for. We chose to make a gazelle out of cardboard for the cheetah, because cheetah’s main prey is the gazelle and we hung it to a tree.

BEHAVIOUR WE TARGETED

We wanted the cheetah to jump up and tear down the gazelle off the rope and rip it apart to find the meat. We targeted the attacking and jumping skills to gain energy for the cheetah. The gazelle would make it want to attack.

MAKING OF OUR TOYFirst we cut a hole in the shoebox and stuffed the tube in the hole to make the neck. Then we taped it shut - we secured it properly with masking tape. Then we painted the body with brown paint and did the same with the neck. When that was dry, we attached the head to the neck and painted that too. Then we finally hung it to a tree with rope!

PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

The first problem we had was the balance of how it hung. The head hung forward because all the weight was in the head. It was solved by us changing the thick rope we used into more of a thin type of rope and so it was balanced better.

OUR EVALUATION AND FINISHED PRODUCT

WE HOPE YOU ENJOYED OUR JOURNEY! !

Our finished product ended up to be a successful toy for a cheetah and it hung up perfectly. We are very happy with our effort we put in to making the toy.
