My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,

Have you seen our renovated sign at the corner of 112th and 142nd?

Our new coat-of-arms was painted for us by Eddy Lopez, the same

artist who painted the beautiful impressionist Basilica and Grotto for

our mantel at the rectory. He is so talented!

The central image on the coat-of-arms has the „L” for Lourdes in the

center. This is enclosed within the „N” and “D” representing Notre

Dame de Lourdes (Our Lady of Lourdes in French). The crown is the

same that crowns the statue of Our Lady at Lourdes (I hope you

notice that it is also the same that crowns our statue of Our Lady of

Lourdes.) This central image is the same contained in the stained

glass windows of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception at

Lourdes which date from 1878-1879. It is the same image adopted by

l‟Hospitalité Notre-Dame de Lourdes – the organization that trains all

the volunteers who serve at Lourdes and organizes their service.

Lourdes, Miami is more than just our geographical location. It,

together with the central symbol, reflects the connection between Our

Lady of Lourdes, Miami and the Sanctuaries of Lourdes, France. It is

an echo of Lourdes to Lourdes. Our Lady of Lourdes and our

consecration to Jesus through Mary has been a tremendous blessing

for us that we see and experience every day in the spirit and activity

of our parish family. We seek to be a blessing as well to the sick

and suffering of both Miami and the world as we offer ourselves in

service at the Sanctuaries of Lourdes, France each year. Lourdes and

Miami belong together.

Mi Querida Familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes,

¿Has visto nuestro signo renovado en la esquina de la 112 y la 142?

Nuestro nuevo escudo de armas fue pintado para nosotros por Eddy

López, el mismo artista que pintó la hermosa Basílica y Gruta

impresionista de nuestra chimenea en la rectoría. ¡Él es tan talentoso!

La imagen central en el escudo de armas tiene la "L" de Lourdes en el

centro. Esto está encerrado dentro de la "N" y "D" que representa a

Lourdes, Miami es algo más que solo nuestra ubicación geográfica.

Vocational Chalice Ministry

We invite you to host the Vocational Chalice for one week in your home to pray for
