COVID-19 and your parish:
We are doing our best to remain connected
throughout this pandemic.
We are hoping that you are all watching our live
streamed Masses on Sunday’s at 9:00 am on our
Facebook page. If you are not on Facebook and
still would like to view our Mass, you can go to
OLQOA.org after 10:00 am Sunday, to view the
current weeks Mass anytime. We are also
continuing the daily opening of Our Lady of
Mt. Carmel church for prayer which is 9-11 am
7 days a week. Also, we have Adoration on
Monday evenings from 6-7 pm at Holy Angels.
Our main office remains open Monday-Friday
from 8 am-2 pm. If you have something that
needs to be dropped off, feel free to drop in our
door mail slot otherwise, please do not hesitate
to phone us for all other matters at 203-235-6381.
We have a growing need for our food pantry. If
you or someone you know is in need of food
assistance, please stop by our office from
9-11 am, Monday-Friday, and we will provide that
person a bag of grocery items.
Lastly, Father Sievel and the Staff would like to
thank everyone who came out to see the May
Crowning Procession. It was a beautiful parade
across town and the support you showed was
such a heart warming experience. Our parish is
truly blessed to have you all as our parishioners!
From Our Lady Queen of Angels:
Please note that due to the current circumstances, our weekly bulletin will be much
smaller and available online and also to our current homebound parishioners. Father
Sievel and the Staff are praying daily for everyone's health and wellbeing. Stay safe.
A Prayer for Healing from Covid-19
God of Mercy, whose love surrounds us and is within us.
We come to you trusting that you are our strength, our very present help in trouble.
We pray for those who suffer the symptoms of COVID-19 and for the families and medical staff who surround them in care.
We pray for those most vulnerable to this disease. May they rest in your peace and protection.
We pray for healthcare workers and people on the front lines, and for workers in essential roles in our communities. Keep them healthy. Keep them safe.
We pray for parents and children who struggle with the new normal of home school. May they be comforted by your peace and presence.
We pray for people who face hatred and discrimination due to fear and anger. May they feel your embrace.
We pray for our leaders. May they be wise, courageous and compassionate.
And we pray for all of us, our families, all those we love, and all those we need to love more. May we join with our brothers and sisters in our common humanity to build a better world united by love and justice. May our hearts open with care for our neighbors and for all those in need.
We ask this knowing our need for you and for each other. Amen.

How do you go to Mass virtually?
During this time away from the walls of our church, consider making a quiet space where you can reflect, mediate, and attend Mass with your families.
• Treat Mass on TV as if you were coming to Mass at church. Dress up or as you would when you attend Mass.
• Place yourself in the presence of God. Don’t do other tasks while you are watching like chores or exercise.
• See yourself in your usual pew. See the people you usually sit around you.
• Do the responses and gestures as you can-sit, stand and kneel.
• Follow the readings by listening or read them.
• Home church is holy when (one or) two or more gather in my name there I am among you!
• Make a spiritual communion since you are not able to sacramentally or physically receive Jesus in the Eucharist. Say a spiritual communion prayer as it is said by the priest or say one yourself:
“Faithful and loving God, we hunger for the nourishment of your own life in the Holy Eucharist. We believe that it is an essential component of our growing as a disciple of Jesus. In this time of great upheaval, we believe that we need that life even more so. Nourish us as we have shared our prayer together in memory of Jesus and shared his real life in your Holy Word of the Sacred Scripture. Nourish us, grow in us, draw us closer to you and to each other. We pray in the name of Jesus the Lord.”
Deacon Don is considering
leading an on-line Bible Study
class on ZOOM centered on Adam Hamilton’s
book: “Moses: In the Footsteps of the
Reluctant Prophet.” In this time of hardship
and struggle, we seem to be wandering
through a desert, desperately hoping to arrive
at better days. With his deep faith in God,
Moses led God’s people through the
wilderness and brought them to the Promised
Land. If you are interested in joining a 6-week
on-line class, please email
[email protected] and sign up. There will
be NO registration cost – but he will ask you to
purchase the book, yourself. If there is enough
interest, a date will be set to start and you will
be given info about the book.

Food Pantry Report
We are experiencing something we all could never have imagined. We can’t worship our Lord during
Mass as a Parish. Many people have lost their lives, others are sick, people are out of work, and many
had to choose between paying bills or putting food on their table.
Because of these difficult times, and the fact that other pantries and soup kitchens have closed, there has
been an increase in the number of requests for help. Not only are more people in need but they are
asking for items that we have not supplied before.
Households are requesting perishable goods, toiletries and paper products as well as the things that we
have been giving out.
So again, we are making a plea to our very generous parishioners. We know that many of you who are
reading this, may be experiencing problems yourself, but our request is for your help within your means.
Financial donations are always fantastic, in addition this long list of items is needed and greatly
appreciated:
The Usual Items:
Pasta, Noodles, Macaroni & Cheese, Pasta Helpers, Sauce, Canned Vegetables of All Kinds, Canned Beans
of All Kinds, Canned Fruits of All Kinds, Canned White Potatoes, Canned Yams, or Sweet Potatoes, Peanut
