thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Donations

to our Food Pantry consist of non-perishable foods:

such as soups, sauces, pasta, rice, cereals, dry milk,

canned vegetables, as well as toiletries (toothpaste,

How to Report Abuse

The Archdiocese takes very seriously any and all

allegations of sexual misconduct by members of the

clergy, Religious and lay staff of the Archdiocese.

We encourage anyone with knowledge of an act of

sexual misconduct to inform us immediately so that

we may take appropriate action to protect others

and provide support to victims of sexual abuse. Indi-

viduals who wish to report an allegation of sexual

misconduct may do so by calling the Archdiocesan

Office of Child and Youth Protection at (201) 407-

Catholic Radio

Relevant Radio, one of the preeminent Catholic ra-

dio networks in the country, has now established a

presence here in the Greater New York area -- and

especially right here in the Archdiocese of Newark.

We are now blessed that Catholic talk radio is avail-

able to assist us here in New Jersey in our efforts to

spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. WNSW -- 1430

AM is Relevant Radio's most recent station, and is

located in the Archdiocese of Newark Chancery offic-

es on Clifton Avenue. We encourage you to spread

the news of WNSW 1430 AM far and wide, and to

tune in to the station and share with your family

and friends this informative and entertaining tool of

the New Evangelization for the good of the Church,

her people, and all who seek the Truth.

tian Initiation with the Sacraments of Eucharist

and Confirmation, in your prayers as they make

this two year journey. We also thank their parents

for joining them in this walk of faith.

Each week in the Intercessions of Mass, there will

be a prayer for them, that we as a community may

prayerfully support them.

Word of Life

“A sense of deep communion with the rest of nature

cannot be real if our hearts lack tenderness, compas-

sion and concern for our fellow human beings. It is

clearly inconsistent to combat trafficking in endan-

gered species while remaining completely indiffer-

ent to human trafficking, unconcerned about the

poor, or undertaking to destroy another human be-

ing deemed unwanted. This compromises the very

meaning of our struggle for the sake of the environ-

ment. ~ Pope Francis, Laudato Si, no. 91 © 2015

Libreria Editrice Vaticana.

Academic Honors

Congratulations to Paramus

Catholic Junior and OLMC pa-

rishioner Isabel Rose Agapito

for achieving First Honors for

the first quarter of the school

year. If you know of a student in

our parish who has attained ac-

ademic honors, please let us know.

Support Group for Those Who are

Separated or Divorced Resumes in February

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is starting another 10-

session program, for those who are separated, re-

cently divorced or going through the process of di-

vorce. Our mission is first, to support emotionally

and spiritually those who have suffered the loss of

the marital relationship, and second, to offer a car-

ing, compassionate and confidential environment for

the sharing of experiences. The group size is limited

and advance registration is required - no walk-ins.

All sessions will be held on Monday evenings from

7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Church Hall. To register,

call the rectory during office hours. All calls are con-

fidential and there is no fee in order to attend.

Whether we want them or not, the New Year will

bring new challenges; whether we seize them or

not, the New Year will bring new opportunities.

~Michael Josephson, Ethics Expert
