Easter Sunday APRIL 8, 2012

Happy Easter. Today I want to talk especially to every-one who does not usually come to church, but is here for Easter. (But everyone else is invited to read on, as well.) Perhaps you always come at Easter and Christmas. Or

perhaps you are visiting because someone invited you—are you pleasing your parents, or your wife or husband?

Perhaps you are here because your life has taken on a new turn for good or ill. Have you lost a loved one, or gone through a divorce, or had a baby, or relocated for a new

job? It is good that you are here. Whatever made you drive to church today, the REAL REASON you came is that God wanted you here. God is seeking you. God is longing for a relationship of love with you. God wants to be a close

friend. God wants to forgive whatever you have done and give you the grace to forgive those who have hurt you.

God will never stop seeking you. You may feel unworthy, or you may feel angry. You may feel the Church is irrele-vant or that the people are hypocrites. The Church is far from perfect! We, who regularly go to church are truly

sorry for all our faults—sometimes we actually point peo-ple away from God. We want to apologize for the way that both the institution and individual members of the

Church may have hurt you. One of our greatest faults is that we simply go off point. This is the point:

God is LOVE all the way through. God wants to be your Savior, and your Friend.

LOVE bade me welcome: yet my soul drew back, Guilty of dust and sin. But quick-eyed Love, observing me grow slack From my first entrance in, Drew nearer to me, sweetly questioning If I lacked anything. ‘A guest,’ I answered, ’worthy to be here:’ Love said, ’You shall be he.’ ‘I, the unkind, ungrateful? Ah, my dear, I cannot look on Thee.’ Love took my hand and smiling did reply, ‘Who made the eyes but I? ‘Truth, Lord; but I have marred them:let my shame Go where it doth deserve.’ ‘And know you not,’ says Love, ‘Who bore the blame?’ ‘My dear, then I will serve.’ ‘You must sit down,’ says Love, ‘and taste my meat.’ So I did sit and eat. By George Herbert

Peace to those who are near, and peace to those who are far off. (Isaiah 57:19.) Feel free to email us if you wish to come back to the church or have any questions about the church at [email protected]., or call the office. Reflection by Dr. Sarah

Domingo de Pascua

Abril 8, 2012   Feliz Pascua.

¿Has perdido a

Te puedes sentir no merece-

dor, no te puedes sentir enojado.

Oh, mi amado, Yo no te puedo mirar.’
