Celebration of Cultures Mass The Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ Office of Ethnic Ministry cordially invites you to the 14th annual Celebration of Cultures Mass presided by Archbishop Jose H. First Friday Adoration Come pray as a community for vocations at the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday, September 7, 7:00 to 8:00 AM.

Dear Friends and Former Students of Mrs. Rosie DeSiato:  It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. DeSiato at over 100 years old!  She was a legendary teacher here at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic School.   Who can forget the Kindergarten celebrations of Thanksgiving with little Indians and little Pilgrims gathered together to give thanks, or the memories of those special times when the Kindergarten class would "re-enact" Mass with mini-priest and mini-deacon and all the perfectly accurate mini-vestments?   Rosie was truly memorable!  May her soul rest in peace.  Everyone is invited to join in honoring the memory of Mrs. DeSiato at the 9:30 a.m. Family Mass on Sunday, October 7th, 2018.  Even if you did not know Rosie, please come and join us in honoring one of the parish's pioneers, a wonderful Catholic educator and great person.  There will be a reception afterward.

Safety tips for kids playing sports this school year  Sports seasons start early, even for young children, and while it’s great that they’re out getting exercise and learning new skills, safety is still a top priority. It’s recommended that all children who are playing school sports have an annual physical, and relevant health information (allergies, conditions, etc.) should be shared with coaches. Parents should make sure their children have the right gear, and that it fits and works wells. Children should stay well-hydrated, well-fed, and well-rested to keep up their energy and strength.
