“In God I trust without fear” Ps 56:12When we are afraid and ask God for help, the things we feararen’t necessarily taken away. What changes is our abilityto get through the fearful situations that can’t be changed. Ibelieve we can always expect this from God. God walks withus in our difficulties, because God is always within us. Ourtrust in God opens us up to receive the power God is willingto give. Without trust how would we ever have the courage tosurvive fearful situations that we could never survive on ourown? A marvelous peace comes over us when we realize wedon’t have to walk through life alone. The one who cares forthe entire universe also cares for us. For this gift of love andcare, let us be joyfully grateful. An excerpt from Living with Christ

Trusting in God is always the right thing to do. When weexperience bad things in life, we are challenged to maintainhope and trust in God because it is easy to blame him forthe bad things that happen when he really doesn’t causethem to happen. Someone we love dies tragically and it isGod’s fault, he could have stopped it, why didn’t he? Someonewe love gets cancer and is suffering, why doesn’t God curethem? Someone who is well versed in Scripture couldprobably give us a really good answer to these questionsbut I can’t. I believe that God doesn’t make these thingshappen, he loves us and wants us to be happy so why wouldhe do these things to us? It doesn’t make sense. He is ourFather and no loving parent would hurt their child on purpose. When things don’t make sense we have to place blamesomewhere and God is normally the fall guy mostly because, yes, he could change things but he gave us a free will.Unfortunately a lot of the bad things that happen to us, wedo to ourselves, not all, but a lot. Some things are freakaccidents, and somehow, good things are born from theseevents even though at the time it doesn’t seem possible.Organizations are created such as Compassionate Friends,a support group for parents due to death of a child, WidowedPersons Service, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors(TAPS) for those whose loved one died in the armed services,RTS Bereavement Services for those who lost a child tomiscarriage or stillbirth, American Association of Suicidology,Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Online Grief Support-A SocialCommunity for those who lose someone they love to anoverdose. All of these organizations were formed out ofsomeone’s grief to help them survive and to help them sharetheir experience so that others can survive the pain of grief.Trusting in God makes tragedies easier to handle, knowingour loved one is with God makes death bearable. God lovesus and wants us with him. We don’t walk through life alone,we don’t walk through death alone, God is always with us.Encounter Jesus, Serve Others
