TUESDAY NOTE on September 21, 2021 Principal’s Message: Last Wednesday and Thursday, we held a PTCC Caring Cardinal hurricane relief drive and collected four full vehicles of items for St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in LaPlace. I would like to thank our wonderful parents and students for their generous donations and our PTCC Board for organizing and delivering the items to St. Joan of Arc on Friday. Last Friday, we kicked off our third Cardinal Fun Run. Pledging is now open. This is a multi-day, fitness-based fundraiser where students (and families) help raise funds while also learning important character lessons. Our goal is to raise $100,000, which will help cover some costs associated with Hurricane Ida and continue to fund our STEM program. We have currently raised $39,907.00 toward our goal. This week is Spirit Week at Our Lady of the Lake School. The theme is OLLie Goes for the Gold. We will also have our Jump for Samantha throughout the week. Virtual parent/teacher conferences for first through seventh grade students will be held this Wednesday, September 22 nd , from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. These 10- minute conferences are for those parents who have questions or concerns and would like to briefly discuss these issues with their student’s teacher(s). It is not mandatory that you schedule a conference at this time. Please note that Little Cardinal and Kindergarten conferences will be scheduled at a later date. Our Lady of the Lake Parish’s annual festival will be here before you know it. The Festival of the Lake will be held November 5 th – 7 th . You may purchase advance tickets and festival t-shirts (see attached flyer). This year’s festival t-shirt can be worn on Wednesdays now and during the months of October and November. Please note, the Archdiocese of New Orleans Day of Formation for all Catholic schools has been canceled; therefore, Monday, November 8 th , will be a full day of school for students. With the hurricane season upon us, we pray that through the intercession of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, our community and our neighbors on the Gulf Coast will be protected from any further harm or damage during this hurricane season, and that those who have been affected by Hurricane Ida will know God’s compassion and strength. As always, you and your family are in my prayers.
