Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church
3710 Augusta Rd. † Greenville, SC 29605
December 16, 2018 Third Sunday of Advent Dear Brothers and Sisters, One of the most important aspects of parish life is effective communication. Our parish office staff work hard to provide beautiful worship, positive pastoral care, faith formation and good administration. If you are new to Our Lady of the Rosary you may not know everyone in the parish office. I have therefore asked four of our staff members to provide the parish letter during Advent so you can get to know them and understand their behind the scenes work. If you have questions, comments and suggestions about our parish life together, these are the people to talk to. They will bring your suggestions and comments forward so we are able to serve you to the best of our ability. Beth Jones, Receptionist: On this third Sunday of Advent thank you for the opportunity to rejoice with you. It is the joy and fullness of faith I find in the Catholic church that has led me here today. Growing up Baptist in southern Virginia and attending a rustic church camp every summer from the age of 10, I felt a call to ministry very early in life. After graduating from Catawba College with a degree in psychology, I then earned a Master of Religious Education degree from Duke Divinity School. Several years of work in youth ministry were followed by many years as mother to five children. Upon converting to Catholicism in 2011, I reentered the life of youth ministry in the family’s new Catholic Church in northwestern Pennsylvania. When our family moved to the Greenville area in 2013, we found Our Lady of the Rosary when I began working in the church office as Parish Receptionist in 2015. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to assist parishioners and community members as OLR seeks to minister in our little corner of Greenville. OLR families should feel free to contact me for everything from scheduling Mass intentions to registering as a parishioner. Want to stop receiving envelopes because you are giving online? Give me a call and I can make that happen. Want to know more about Online Giving? Give me a call for more information. I am here to help you find an answer to your question or find the staff person who can help. I look forward to talking with you soon. See you at Mass!
