ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GO!! Mike Seale
It’s official. Summer events have started. So, mark your calendars, get
set, and let’s get going!
FIRST: We introduce our Summer Intern to the Youth Program, James
Ham. James will accompany the Jr. High and High School students to
the Ultimate Youth Rally this weekend (May 26-28) in Germantown. Our
youth always have an incredible spiritual experience during this week-
end. We ask for you to pray their faith to be increased during this time
of fellowship with other young people and in their worship and study of
GOD’s Word. Other activities for the youth: Memphis Work Camp is June
5-9 and UPLIFT is June 17-22.
SECOND: Vacation Bible School is just around the corner. Our VBS be-
gins on Monday, June 5th and concludes on Thursday, June 8th. The age
group for VBS is K-6th grade. If you have smaller children we are asking
for a least one parent to stay to assist with your child. If you would like to
be a volunteer, please see Judy Shepherd or Kim Shirley. Preparations
for VBS will be going on all this week. THEME for this year: WILDERNESS
TREK. The four Bible stories are: Elijah being fed by the ravens (for older
students Elijah’s time in the cave), Moses leading Israel in the wilderness
wandering, John the Baptist preaching in the wilderness, and Jesus’
temptations in the wilderness.
THIRD: World Changers will be here during the week of June 20-23. We
are asked to help feed them (individually wrapped sandwiches, chips,
desserts (in sandwich baggies), and drinks. If you are able to help, con-
tact Victoria Deal in the church office (870) 735-3394.
FOURTH: The Crownpoint, New Mexico Mission trip, will be June 23-July
1. Prayers for safe travels and for the young Navajo children who will be
attending the VBS during that week. Please pray for the Guyana Mission
trip that Rick and Kim Shirley and Mike Jones will be taking July 14th-
23rd. And don’t forget about Micah and Madison Tolleson as they minis-
ter to those in Africa. Madison is already there for the entire summer,
and Micah will be joining her during the month of June.
FIFTH: The yearly Northside Kids Camp that reaches out to local kids in
our community will be July 24th – 28th. Church teams from several differ-
ent locations will be here serving our community children. Be prepared
to see how you can help.
Let us remember the life of Jesus. As Peter stated to Cornelius and oth-
ers, “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power,
and how he went around doing good…because GOD was with
him,” (Acts 10:38). Let us be about the Father’s business; teaching the
gospel of grace, “doing good” and sharing our faith.
RELAY FOR LIFE – sponsored by the American Cancer Society on Satur-
day, June 3rd, from 4pm to 11pm. If anyone is interested in organizing
and participating in this year’s event, you can register on line http://
www.relayforlife.org/crittendenar Please see church office for posters
advertising this event. If you have any questions, please feel free to
reach out to Whitney Merida by phone (901-725-8624) or by
