Overview

Bringing together social entrepreneurs, investors, creatives,

business leaders, policy-makers and civil society,

The Conduit acts as a catalytic platform for individuals tackling

some of the most pressing challenges facing us today.

Our members share the belief that the world’s most

significant problems can be viewed as opportunities for

entrepreneurial solutions, and that knowledge, skills,

technology and capital can lead to transformative impact.

Our building has been designed to nurture creativity, innovation

and entrepreneurship. The Conduit’s Programme will showcase

solutions and engender a better understanding of the trends,

opportunities and geo-political forces shaping our world.

Our Mission

The Conduit inhabits an 8 floor neoclassical building in

the heart of London. Our location has a noted history

that resonates with our current purpose.

Conduit Street derived its name from the pipes, laid in

1236, that carried water from sources in Hyde Park

through the “Conduit Meadows” to supply the city.

Our street has played a historical role in facilitating life

and commerce and we hope to continue this tradition

by nurturing and sustaining London’s growth.

A historic location in the heart of London built with passion, purpose, and perspective.

ROOFTOP & TERRACE

The top floor of The Conduit has

been transformed into a spacious

bar and landscaped terrace

featuring an original outdoor

fireplace. Interior and exterior

spaces flow seamlessly together

and large arched windows let

the light flood in for members

to enjoy unbeatable views.

LIBRARY & WORKSPACE*

Members can enjoy the 5th floor

work areas and extensive library

which houses over 1,200 books

related to politics, philosophy,

economics, history and the

environment. The library will

have a dedicated section on

social entrepreneurship and

development and include a

selection of essays, letters and

biographies. The library will

also serve as an atmospheric

setting for meetings and private

dining, as well as receptions

and screenings for up to 60

people. The 4th floor provides

additional informal work

and collaboration space.

THE RESTAURANT & BAR

The restaurant on the 4th floor will

be headed up by Michelin starred

chef Merlin Labron-Johnson

and is the home of our guest

chef programme, introducing

members to the most talented

chefs in the UK and beyond. The

dining room will consist of an

open kitchen that serves refined

menus dedicated to sustainably

sourced ingredients paired

with an extensive collection of

organic and biodynamic wines.

GARDEN TERRACE

The restaurant’s verdant garden

terrace can seat 60, thoughtfully

laid out with generous spaces

between tables surrounded by

indigenous flowers and plants.

The full a la carte menu and

guest chef offerings will be

served here, with seamless

service both outside and in.

SALON & EVENTS*

The 1st floor of The Conduit is

an expansive 3000 sq. ft.

event space which will be

the mainstay for the Conduit

Content Programme. The

versatile venue, also available for

private hire, can be configured

to accommodate talks, panel

discussions, exhibitions, film

screenings and conferences of

varying capacities. The space

can fit up to 150 people for a

seated lunch or dinner, and

250 for a drinks reception.

SPEAKEASY*

Nestled on the cellar level, the

speakeasy is an intimate

venue with a stage for

showcasing musicians and

other performance artists. Our

bartenders will create beautiful

cocktails alongside a late-night

menu to keep members and

their guests going until 3am.

Screenings can also be held

here for up to 100 people.

*Spaces available for event rentals in 2018.

Our culinary program will source and present exceptional

food with a deep commitment to sustainability.

Working with the Sustainable Restaurant Association we have

identified small-scale farmers, fishermen and specialist

producers predominately within the British Isles.

The Conduit aims to minimise the use of plastic and is

committed to reducing waste across the board.

Food and drink at The Conduit are a natural extension of our sustainable approach

THE RESTAURANT

We are delighted to announce

that Merlin Labron-Johnson

will be the Executive Chef

of our 4th floor restaurant.

One of the youngest chefs to

receive a Michelin star for his

imaginative, modern cooking,

Merlin shares our passion for

sourcing and sustainability and

is creating a menu that is refined

and produce-driven. Merlin is

currently devoting personal

time to cooking at the Refettorio

Felix centre for the homeless,

and contributing to the Chef’s

Manifesto in support of the UN’s

sustainable development goals.

SUSTAINABLE SOURCES

The Conduit is working closely with

the Sustainable Restaurant

Association to ensure that we

adhere to the most rigorous

sustainability practices –

whether it’s the seafood certified

by the Marine Stewardship

Council sourced from

renewable stocks that sustain

the marine environment, or

the coffee we serve from small

producers in South America.

GUEST CHEFS

The Conduit’s guest chef program

will feature at least four

prominent chefs per year. Our

first guest chef will be Massimo

Bottura, one of the world’s most

creative and socially responsible

culinary figures. In September

2018, he will be serving members

and their guests a menu from the

acclaimed Osteria Francescana

in Modena. Massimo is

committed to addressing the

issues of food waste and hunger;

together with his non-profit

organisation Food for Soul,

he founded Refettorio Felix at

St Cuthbert’s, the community

kitchen that uses surplus

ingredients to create meals for

those living in socially vulnerable

conditions. Part of the proceeds

from his residency at The

Conduit will go to Food for Soul.

FOOD PHILOSOPHY

Our talks series will highlight

topics ranging from nutritional

neuroscience to restaurants

as a force for good, and we are

establishing training workshops

with international partners

such as Gastromotiva, who

use the power of education,

food and gastronomy as social

change agents. We will bring

businesses and changemakers

together around key issues

of sustainability, and host

wine tastings from unusual

vineyards, artisan masterclasses

and round-table discussions

with food professionals.

DRINKS AND DISTILLERIES

We are embracing the original

and experimental in our drinks

program. Working a diverse

selection of producers we will

stock everything from organic

and biodynamic wine to small

batch distilleries to elegant

vintage spirits. Using these

specialised products, our bar

team are creating innovative

wine lists and drinks menus to be

enjoyed throughout The Conduit.
