Our program is aimed at primary-school-aged children, providing quality care and fun activities for your child, in a safe and friendly environment. We

offer a range of recreational experiences including excursions and in-house activities. Children not at primary school may still attend, at the discretion

of management.

General Information:

Cost per day: $54 per child / per day.

Location: Rockhampton Grammar Outside School Hours Care, In the Primary School Section, behind Duggan Hall.

Access through Tennis Courts off Quarry Street entrance.

Hours: 7.00am — 6.00pm

Late pick up fee after 6.00pm - $1.00 per minute per family.

This fee is in place as staff are not paid over time. Please advise the service if you are running late so we can set your child’s mind at ease and staff can make other arrangements if

needed.

What to bring: EVERYDAY

You must provide your child with a packed lunch everyday and snacks for morning tea and afternoon tea. Please ensure your child has enough food for the duration of their

stay. A screw top bottle of water that can be refilled, a wide brimmed hat, a collared t-shirt, closed in shoes and a spare set of clothes for emergencies.

Daily Activities:

Each day your child will have access to the various constructive equipment, Music, Home Corner, Outside Games, Quiet Areas, Art & Craft and on occasion the children will

have access to the Play Station 2 and/or Wii. We reserve the right to change activities due to unforeseen circumstances.

Excursions:

All excursion costs applicable on days your child is booked in to Vacation Care will be added to your fees.

Booking Policy:

All bookings are to be made through The Rockhampton Grammar School Early Learning Centre prior to the commencement of the Vacation Care period. You can contact

our program Co-ordinator Adeina Shackleton on 4922 1615 or fax your booking sheet to 4922 7654. Once your booking has been processed and you are in our system, any

changes or cancellations on your part will still incur the full day’s fee.

Accidents/Injuries & Sickness:

For all accidents and injuries, including minor cuts and grazes, first aid will be applied. A record of injuries will be kept and will need to be signed upon departure. We also

have the right not to accept a child suffering from any infectious disease or illness. If any child is deemed unfit to be at the program the responsible parent/ guardian will be

contacted to come and collect their child.

Sun Safe Centre

As we are a Sun Smart Centre, your

child is required to wear a wide

brimmed hat everyday at our

service. If they forget to bring one there

are always spare hats available. Please

be aware of the days that children are

going on excursions and make sure that

they wear appropriate footwear and

clothes.

What your Child needs to bring EACH DAY

Food—Make sure your child has enough food for Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea.

Water Bottle—Needs to be refillable

Spare Clothes—For emergencies, please ensure that your child has at least one full set of clothes.

Suitable Clothes—Sun safe clothes are required each day. Singlets are not suitable.

Hat —Only wide brimmed hats

Shoes—Closed in shoes when away from the service

Monday 2nd December

Learn some dance moves from the Street Culture movement of Hip

Hop. Children will experience the fast movements of a dance style

that is popular with modern music, film and television. Cost will be

$8.00. Time: 10.00-11.00

Tuesday 3rd December

The children will be able to experience what it is like to care for a community

garden. Community gardens have been set up not only to grow plants

(flowers, fruits and vegetables) but as a meeting ground for people to get

together within their local community. We will be there from 10.00-12.00.

Thursday 5th December

We will be visiting the Post Office to look at

how our mail is sorted and processed

before being delivered to us. This is a great

time of year to see just how much mail is

processed through the centre due to the

Friday 6th December

Lasar Tag is a ‘live’ video game

that gets the children out and having

fun. Come dressed in your best

camouflage and get ready to challenge

your friends. Children of all ages can play. The

equipment works with infrared just like a TV remote so it is harmless and eye-safe.

Cost: $10.00.

Wednesday 4th December

Children will be given the opportunity to make some Christmas

goodies. On the menu for today are Apricot Balls, Rocky Road

and White Christmas. Children will be able to experience

Monday 9th December

Out of the gate and off for a walk went Hairy Maclary to Rockhampton

Art Gallery. Lynley Dodd’s famous character Hairy Maclary is on display

in 59 original drawings. Exhibitions also include work dated from her

school days to most recent publications. While there children will

experience art activities relating to the exhibition.

Children then will be going to McDonalds for

lunch. Time: 10.00-11.30. 12.00-1.00 at

McDonalds.

Tuesday 10th December

The children will be able to enjoy the Bowling Centre whilst trying to achieve the

highest score whilst playing 2 games of Ten Pin Bowling. The cost will be $12.00.

Children MUST have socks and a water bottle. The bus will leave at 10:00 am

and be back at the centre at 12:00 pm.

Children will be able to learn circus tricks in

Duggan Hall. As part of this

experience we will transform the

Friday 13th December

As part of our community programs in

OSHC and Vacation Care, children will be able to shop for a gift to be presented to Life Line to be

given to children that are less fortunate than ourselves. Children will be able to experience the

joy of shopping, wrapping and giving to a worthwhile cause. Cost will be $10.00 to purchase a

gift. Our shopping destination is Sam’s Warehouse. Time: 10.00-11.30.

Bring along your bike, scooter or skates to enjoy riding around the

Thursday 19th December

We will be making use of the school’s

educational programs and games in the

school computer lab. This experience

enhances hand/eye coordination and furthers

computer skills and knowledge. We will also be

to talk to the children about personal safety.

Friday 20th December

From 10-1pm, children will be able to bounce and slide to their heart’s content on a large jumping

castle which will be connected to water. Other water games will also be available. Children will

need to bring togs (including a sun shirt), towel and a change of clothes. Cost will be $10.00.

Wednesday 18th December

The children will be spending the morning at the Parkhurst Putt

Putt Golf course, trying their luck on the 18 hole course. Children

will be able to put their hand/eye coordination to the test as they

try to score the lowest count as they move throughout the

course. Children must bring hats, suitable shoes and water

bottles. Cost for the activity will be $6.00. Time: 10.00-12.00.

The children will get to experience the Torres Strait Islander village,

Didgeridoo playing, and of course throwing the boomerang. The cost

will be $7.50 per child and will go from 10.00-12.00. Children will need

The children will be able to explore the

beach and all its hidden treasures and the

smell of fresh sea sprayed water. A sausage

Children will be able to experience a

structured multi-sport program that

incorporates 12 different sports. The focus

recognises each child's different stages of physical, social and emotional development.

Children will experience the joy of creating their own creation through

using something from the earth. They will have the opportunity to work

with tools and their hands to mould the clay, and learn skills from the

Visitors Centre is packed with interesting and interactive displays. FLOW Visitors

Centre is a public education space created by Fitzroy Basin Association.

The children will get to opportunity to

walk alongside Australia`s favourite

animals and see their habitats. We will

$10.00. We will be there from 10.15 am - 1.30 pm and will be staying for a picnic

lunch. Don’t forget your lunchbox!
