Hi everyone,
This Wednesday 28th the Senior school will be hearing from
students who are aspiring to be a WDSS School Captain and/
or Vice-Captain in 2021. All graduate students are welcome
to apply and present their speeches. Voting will then take
place by staff and students to determine who will step in to
the roles. Good luck to all students applying for a student
leadership role for 2021. We hope to announce the successful
candidates in the forthcoming weeks.
This Friday 30th of October is World Teachers Day. I would like
to take this opportunity to thank all our magnificent teachers
across our school who plan, assess student learning, manage
our classrooms and implement engaging programs for our
students across each academic year. Our teachers are a
valued cohort, who are part of the wonderful staff we have
here at WDSS. We are grateful for all that they do each day.
THANK YOU ☺
Also this Friday our School Captains have organised a dress
up day for Halloween. There will be a range of sensational
prizes and activities happening throughout the morning. We
are looking forward to having an exciting day,
so dress up, join in and have some Friday fun!
Have a great week!

Welcome to Lachlan!
We are very excited to have a new student in our class. Lachlan
has been settling in well and joining in with our class activities.
Lachlan is really good at drawing, puzzles and LOVES Minecraft.
He has worked really well on his fine motor skills with Anne. He
was a big fan of ice cream and helped make our class book for
the Word of the Week ‘you’ - What Flavour Do You Want?
We also had three very special visitors in Room 1 and 2. Layla’s
German Shorthaired Pointer puppies. They were super cute and
curious. We all got to have a cuddle or a pat. Thank you Layla
for sharing your puppies with us all.

Welcome to
WDSS Lachlan!
Yesterday the MYSSP students
ventured out to Blue Rock
Lake. It was a cold and
blustery day but the students
had a great time exploring
this beautiful area. The staff
and students were very
impressed with how pristine
Blue Rock is kept and the
great facilities they have. Visitors to the walking track can also take advantage of
the Blue Rock Book Box - a library with a view! You can borrow a book to read in the
sun, return it later or swap it for a book you have at home.
Last week, students took advantage of some nice spring weather (which has since
disappeared!) to spend time in the garden doing art. It is such a lovely inspirational
setting - thank you to everyone who has done so much work over the years to
make the garden such an awesome part of our school!
