India• India is located in Southern Asia• It borders China, Nepal and Pakistan• The capital city is New Delhi• The currency is the Indian rupee• The official religion is Hinduism• More than one billion people live in India• The national language is Hindi• The main colours on the flag are green, white and

Mumbai (Bollywood)• Mumbai is one of India's largest cities• The reason why we went to Mumbai is Bollywood• More films are made every year in Bollywood then in

Hollywood!• It is the heart of the moviemaking industry• The costumes we saw in Bollywood were amazing• Most of the actresses were wearing Saris• A sari is a piece of material wrapped around the body

Mumbai (Bollywood)• Saris come in a variety of colures, patterns and

designs• The music in the films is mostly upbeat and lively• Devdas and Laagan are two famous Bollywood films

Haiti• Haiti is located in the Caribbean• It is the western part of the island Hispaniola• The capital city is Port-au-Prince• The currency is the Haitian Gourde• The official religion is Catholicism • The national language in Haiti is French• The main colours on the flag are blue, red and white

Port-au-Prince• On Tuesday January 12th 2010 a devastating

earthquake hit the Port-au-Prince in Haiti • It measured 7.0 on the Richter Scale• The effects of this earthquake were brutal• Buildings everywhere were destroyed• Over 200,000 people died• Many were found dead under rubble • Billions of dollars in aid has been sent to Haiti

Port-au-Prince• Organisations such as Unicef and Red Cross

and working in Haiti• This earthquake was a tragedy• Port-au-Prince is a now a ruined city• It is filled with rubble and the remains of

buildings
